Interviews
Aaron Carter – House of Carters
Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?
A) Besides the show and all the publicity, I am working on my album, which is about half done. I am writing, producing and singing so I am really excited.
Q) What is the reason behind the start of the show?
A) The reason is simple yet complicated…. Nick was coming to LA to record his next Backstreet Boys album and realized that all of the rest of us were pretty scattered around. Since Angel and I turned eighteen years old, we were no longer under the rules of our parents and Nick wanted for us all to be together. We had a pretty scattered upbringing so we haven’t spent that much time together, really just being brothers and sisters. He invited us all out to be together and to strengthen our support system. I admire him for doing it and it has really brought us closer.
Q) What did you learn most from your time on “House of Carters?”
A) I learned that none of us know how to communicate and that we are all pretty angry from our upbringing. Yes, we are extremely fortunate for having careers in the entertainment business, but at what cost? So, we learned by example to just yell when you want something. By doing the show, we are realizing that that doesn’t work in the real world! Realizing these things have allowed us to let them go and move past them, which is pretty huge for all of us.
Q) What was the most challenging aspect of the show for you?
A) It would have to be having to listen to Nick. I know that he wants what is best for me, yet at the same time, I am an adult now and I don’t like being told what to do. Again, it comes down to communication. It may be the way he tells me to do something or may be the way I react, but it usually ends up all good.
Q) Do you have any regrets from filming?
A) No.
Q) Do you feel you have a better relationship with your family now that you’ve been through this experience?
A) 110%! We are all learning new things about each other and with each other. All five siblings truly enjoyed the experience and it helped us all to be open minded and think about each other not, just ourselves.
Q) Why should viewers tune in to see “House of Carter’s?”
A) It is CRAZY! I think that people can see first hand what divorce, power and money can do to a family. Once they watch us, they will think to themselves, ”hmmm maybe my family is not so bad!”
Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?
A) To my fans, thank you for sticking with me and always showing me love. I get tons of fan letters and it really makes my day. It inspires me to keep doing what I’m doing. Also, stay tuned, my next album is going to really show you what Aaron Carter is all about!
