Interviews - TV
Alison – Big Brother 7
Q. How were you approached about coming back to “Big Brother”?
A. You know, it’s as easy as a phone call. That’s about it, then you just make the decision whether or not it’s something that you even want to try out to do. You have to go through all the interviews and everything again. They want to make sure people want to do it and they’re going to try and not just sit back and do anything.
Q. What was it about the show that drew you back in?
A. I have been very lucky where both times “Big Brother” has been on, for me, it’s been almost like a turning point in my life. A test for me. Both times I’ve had a boyfriend and both times it was kind of like a test. Should we be together or not, the last time it didn’t work out so well. But, this time it did. So, it just worked out in my benefit. It was kind of at that point where Jason (my boyfriend) and I were like either we move forward or we just stop. We’re still together and hopefully things are going to be great.
Q. With coming back to the show, did you do anything special to prepare before entering the house? We know they focused on you being in shape.
A. It wasn’t even that I was focusing on getting back into shape, that’s just something that my boyfriend and I share in common. We’re both very interested in working out and being fit and having fun. That’s just my lifestyle now. It’s not even that I was just doing that for the show, for the competition. That’s just me, that’s who I am. That wasn’t a part of going back on to “Big Brother.”
Q. There was the “Big Brother 6” alliance in the house. Erika was with you in season 4, why didn’t you try to align more with her?
A. I wanted to and we were working on it. I think it would have happened maybe in the long run but she kind of held a grudge from season four. She was very bitter about the way things ended between her and I. She really wanted me to take her to the final two but I just couldn’t do it. She felt betrayed and she held a grudge. You really can’t carry over previous games into this game because it’s a totally different ballpark.
Q. Since being on “Big Brother 4,” what have you been up to?
A. After the first season I did of “Big Brother” I did the “Amazing Race” and broke up with my ex-boyfriend Donny. That’s when I met my new guy, we’ve been really spending a lot of time together. I’ve really been spending a lot of time focusing a lot on myself. I’m going to school in October down in Florida and getting my MBA. So, I’ve really been focusing on me and trying to get better with myself. After “Big Brother 4,” I left a little bit richer but I was pretty upset with the way things turned out. I didn’t really have any long lasting friendships with any of the houseguests. It was kind of a lonely time for me, so I’ve kind of just been focusing on me.
Q. With the “Alison Rules” competition, you said that Erika was the strongest competitor. Why did you choose that response?
A. It’s not that I thought she was the strongest competitor, I thought she was one of my biggest threats. She might not be very vocal in the house but she made it very clear that she wasn’t a fan of me. Anybody against you like that is never a good thing, so I definitely thought that was working against me.
Q. What did you think of Erika’s tearful goodbye message?
A. I just think she’s emotional and confused and I don’t think it was very sincere towards me. But, even if it wasn’t, that’s fine. I totally understand that she had to do what she had to do to stay in the game. She’s playing the game for herself, not me. That’s fine, I appreciate that, I respect that and I wish her luck.
Q. Is there someone that you’d really like to see win?
A. Danielle or Diane.
Q. Was there a houseguest that you really didn’t want to see re-enter the house?
A. I did not want to see Nathan every again. Nightmares about it, those curls make me want to throw up.
Q. For your fans who voted you back in the house and have continued their support since season 4, what would you like to say to them?
A. Thank you so much for voting and being part of the show. Thank you for trying to get me back in there for America’s Choice and I’m sorry that I didn’t pull through a little bit longer for the fans. I wanted to stay and stir some things up. Keep watching, it’s still going to be a very interesting summer.
