All Sinners – We Own the Night

By: Lisa Steinberg

Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would say good ole hard rock.  People have said 80’s British metal vibe and I wouldn’t disagree with that.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I have influences from all musical genres, but people from Dio to the OG metal gods and guys like Stevie Ray Vaughn who really made me want to play guitar.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “World That’s Burning.” It’s actually very timely in my opinion…

A) Yea, I wrote that around the 2024 election and it was really inspired by the division in the country and the leaders not serving us but themselves.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) It’s probably because the stuff going on now is affecting everyone whether you think it’s good or bad.  And everyone feels it.  It’s pretty undeniable right now.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) It’s more of a foreshadowing of where we can end up if we don’t get what’s going on in check.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) My writing process is a bit all over the place.  A song for me can start with a riff in my head or a chord progression on an acoustic guitar.  And I usually wait until the music is done to sit and write lyrics.  Not saying that I haven’t written a song around a lyrical inspiration.  Again, I’m a bit all over the place.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) We really do it all ourselves alongside our producer.  I like hearing what other people think when listening back.  Sometimes our vision isn’t the best one.

Q) Your album We Own the Night is out now! What are some themes you explore on it?

A) I think a lot of my stuff is about mortality, redemption and self reflection.

Q) My favorite tracks on the album are “Embers Rising” and “Wake Up and Stay.” Which of the songs do you have a fondness for and why does it standout to you?

A) I love “Wake Up and Stay.”  Nick [Testone] wrote that idea and I had to adapt to his idea rather than it being my vision, but we work well together as writers.
