America’s Got Talent: The Champions – Night Six
By: Sammi Turano
AGT: The Champions continued its second season with the start of the finals, featuring acts from all around the world. Terry Crews hosts while Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell and Alesha Dixon judge.
Tonight, ten acts will perform before next week’s finale.
1. Alexa Lauenburger – Dog Act from “Das Supertalent” 2017 and Winner/ “Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions” 2019 – Finalist
This is cute! I love the conga line at the end and her quipping about the dogs peeing on other acts. She’s got a lot of ambition and creativity for someone so young. I just love her and the dogs.
Simon didn’t seem to care for the act, but Heidi loved how she was able to bring something unique to the table.
2. Duo Transcend – Trapeze/Rollerskating Duo from “America’s Got Talent” 2018 – Finalist
Tonight’s act was done completely blind….as in they were BOTH blindfolded. It was literally a nail biting act from start to finish. I seriously thought she was going to get hurt a few times, but thankfully she was fine.
The judges loved it! Alesha even quipped that it was like 50 Shades of Grey.
3. Angelina Jordan – Jazz Singer – Heidi Klum’s Golden Buzzer
She took on Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” which was a ballsy move. I think she did well, but worry that it might not be enough to stand out compared to the other acts. Either way, she definitely has a future in singing!
Simon thinks it was an unforgettable act, while the others find her a hypnotic super star.
4. Boogie Storm – Dance Group – Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer
STAR WARS DANCE! That in itself is a reason to love this group. While they are entertaining and fun to watch I, once again, wonder if they have what it takes to make it to the top, especially after Howie buzzes them.
Simon loves it while Howie remains confused. The ladies smile and think they’ve come a long way.
5. The Silhouettes – Shadow Dance Group – Alesha Dixon’s Golden Buzzer
They should have warned us to have tissues ready! They tell a story about overcoming homelessness and it has me in tears from start to finish. The message is beautiful, the dancing is incredible and the emotion is though the roof. I seriously think they may win it all after this performance.
Simon said he wanted more, but the others think it was a beautiful, inspirational performance.
6. Hans – Singer/Dancer/Musician from “America’s Got Talent” 2018 – Quarter-finalist
Tonight he channels Wayne Newton with “Danke Schoen” and goes into J.Lo’s “Let’s Get Loud.” It is…interesting to say the least.
Simon buzzes him, while the ladies continue to find him entertaining.
7. Tyler Butler-Figueroa – Violinist from “America’s Got Talent” 2019 – Finalist
This time he plays “Hallelujah.” He does it without any help or accompaniment, which makes it that much more vulnerable. He’s such a sweet, inspiring kid. You cannot help but love him every time he takes the stage.
Simon thinks he can win it all, while the others agree the super fans’ job is much harder after his performance.
8. V.Unbeatable – Dance Group – Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer
There are bikes, there is acrobatics, there is Bollywood thrown in….there is a lot of action, fun and excitement all in one ninety second performance. They are so good that I paused this so I can see if they are going on tour by where I live. It is THAT GOOD.
The judges are gushing over it. Heidi even declares that there is no way to top this act. Everyone agrees this is their best performance.
9. Marcelito Pomoy – Singer from “Pilipinas Got Talent” 2011 – Winner
He chooses Beauty and the Beast for his performance. While it is interesting, I once again wonder if he is going to win over the audience. He didn’t really stand out compared to the other acts.
Simon thinks it was a predictable act, while the others think he did a good job.
10. Sandou Trio Russian Bar – Russian Bar from “America’s Got Talent” 2011 – Semi-finalist
What a way to end the night! There are nails, there is fire, there is danger…The entire time, I am wondering how the heck they did this and not get hurt. They are in my top three acts for sure.
Howie thinks it was epic, while Simon thinks they blew the competition wide open. The ladies are equally impressed and think they raised the bar. Stay tuned for the season finale!
