Andrew W. Walker – Wedding Planner Mystery

By  |

Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I am currently about to go to Vancouver Island to work on another Hallmark film.

Q) We’ll be seeing you in the film Wedding Planner Mystery. How was your character Aaron Gold described to you?

A) He was a reporter, a fast talking reporter. I figured that the script is always like the bible and has all the information in it that you need and the clues as to who this character is. I liked digging into it and coming up with the backstory for the character. So, I had to find for Aaron to justify why he was a good guy. Ultimately, he is the good guy and Carnegie has to fall for him. I started describing him at the beginning as not as aggressive as Perez Hilton is, but I think he is a fast talking reporter that stops at nothing to get the truth. He is definitely not as cutthroat as Perez Hilton, but he ultimately wants to find the truth. He just wants honesty and he’ll go after high fluting figures to kind of expose them and set the record straight.

Q) What was it like working with Erica Durance on the movie?

A) Erica is incredible. She is so talented and I think my biggest wish is that we had another month and a half to work together on the project because I learned every day on set from Erica. She is such a professional actress and we started finding our groove about a week into it. She started to find the sense of humor in both of our characters and we started to play around a lot more and ad lib lot more. It’s kind of like acting is between the lines. So, I think a lot of the life that we were bringing to the dialogue started happening about a week to a week and a half into it. She is just such a fun and open person. I would love to work with her again.

Q) Was the cast chemistry instant when you began working on the movie or did it take some time to bond?

A) It was as instant as immediate chemistry can be. Once you start finding layers with the characters on top of who you are in the script and where the relationship is at (all the stuff that kind of comes with the story) it took about a week or so to really start getting playful. She is just such a great actress and such a sweet person that the chemistry was immediate. As people, the chemistry was immediate. As characters, it quickly became what it ended up being.

Q) What were some of your most memorable moments from filming?

A) I’m a fan of jumping into the unknown. The first scene that we had together was with all of the characters. Carnegie, Holt (Brandon Beemer) and Nicky (Chelan Simmons) and I were at the shopping mall and I come up taking pictures of Nicky and start questioning her dad. Carnegie sticks up for her and starts asking about who I am and what I want. That scene, for me, was a lot of fun because none of the actors had worked together before. To be so fresh and for all of us to not really know our approach to the scene was a lot of fun for me. It was definitely the first scene that we had was really memorable for me.

Q) The movie will be premiering on the Hallmark Movie Channel. What makes the film such a great fit for the network?

A) Sunday is family night. I remember growing up watching Disney movies with my mom and dad every Sunday night. My mom would set up the TV trays and we would have dinner together in the family room. We would watch whatever Disney movie was on. I think Sunday night in the Fall is going to be a great fit for any family to watch. The movie has a lot of humor to it and I think it is a sweet movie. It’s got some mystery and I think Sunday night is a great slot for it. I’m excited for it.

Q) You are a part of social media. Will fans be able to live tweet with you and ask questions during the premiere?

A) Absolutely! I look forward to it.

Q) Why is social media such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I’m newly involved with social media now. I’ve been on Twitter now for a few months and I’ve really realized that it is an important aspect to being an actor. It’s a great way to connect with people. It gives a flash of information as to where you are in your life, where you are in your process and on set. It’s minute-to-minute information and you can let people know how you are feeling about a situation, if a great thought comes across you, you can share a great quote that you have read or a great photo. I think it is a great way to be personal without being an open book.

Q) What would you like to say to all your fans and supporters?

A) Thank you! Thank you very much and I hope to continue to entertain people for the rest of my life. I’ve been acting and putting all my attention into my craft for pretty much my entire life since I was a teenager. This is all I know. I’m happy that I can continue to work and get paid for what it is a dream job.
