Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would describe my sound as fun, energetic and comforting!

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

My top two musical influences are definitely Taylor Swift and Avril Lavigne!!

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “ice cream mess.”

A) My inspiration to write ice cream mess came from wanting the imagery of an “ice cream mess” to act as a metaphor for how life is full of beauty and joy like ice cream yet can also be incredibly messy and complicated at times… hence the title “ice cream mess.” One of the most important messages of the song is “it’s never as bad as it seems,” which is a phrase I love to live my life by because I realise what we experience in life, whether good or bad, is impermanent and life is constantly moving so you can always count on the bad days to let you go sooner or later.

Q) I love that the video features fans singing along and their social media posts. Where did the idea for this concept come from?

A) The idea for making a fan video for each song came from simply wanting to create something that would bring me and the fans (#AMF) together! I also wanted to take it as an opportunity to show them how much all their support means to me and, to be honest, they deserve that whole music video for themselves!!

Q) The song is super catchy and upbeat. What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) Well, I think “ice cream mess” is a really comforting song! Lyrics such as “it’s never as bad as it seems” reassures listeners and since I’ve always connected to songs with positive messages, I feel like some fans may connect to my music because of that!

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) The thing I love about song writing is that it’s different every time. Sometimes I may come up with a killer lyric and write it down on my phone to use when I have a cool melody, yet sometimes I’ll be strumming on the guitar, think of a good song concept and finish the whole song from start to finish! However, one of my fav ways of song writing is through co-writing! I’ve co-written with Grammy nominated writers like Kim McLean and it’s simply the best writing with her since I learn so much from the whole process!

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I’m not a producer myself; however, when my producer goes into production of one of my songs, I always have references of particular sounds, guitars and drums that I like and send them over to him! I basically create an inspiration board (but with sounds) for my producer to work off from.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) I can definitely say I have already recorded demos of three songs I’m hoping to release in the summer!! In the future I also have my sights set on releasing an album, so I can promise my listeners there’s lots of new music and surprises coming your wayyyy!!

Q) You are super active on social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) It’s so important for me to connect with my fans because the #AMF (my fanclub) is basically a family! Every day I go onto social media and am active with them is just the same as hanging out with my best friends! Therefore, when I share my music with them it allows there to be a deeper connection and understanding since we have such close bonds together!

Q) You often do cover songs. How do you select the musicians you cover and what are some songs/artists you are still eager to make your own?

A) One of my favorite ways of choosing cover songs is asking my fans (#AMF) since it’s always so fun to challenge myself by singing a song of their choice! Another way I choose songs to cover is thinking of which songs I wish I would have written myself because I find you really learn about the elements of what makes up a certain song once you covering which also helps with my song writing.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) In the future I would love to collaborate with Avril Lavigne. I think her pop-punk fun energy is so contagious and definitely something I’d love to have featured on a track of my future albums!!

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I would like to say the biggest, most massive, ginormous thank you in the whole wide world. If you’re a supporter of my music and you’re reading this right now I hope you know how much you have impacted my life in an amazing way since without you I’d not be able to do what I can today!!!
