Hannah Nicole Maehrer knows how to write an enchanting story – pun intended. She has written another captivating chapter in the Evie Sage adventures with Apprentice to the Villain. With our ever-affable assistant getting a job upgrade, so come new challenges. Definitely pick up this latest iteration to get your dose of evil and Evie.

Things are going great for Evie Sage. She has a (hot) boss that she loves working for and wonderful coworkers whom she adores (including you, Rebecca). Unfortunately, not everything in Rennedawn is as pleasant. Something has begun to affect the kingdom’s magic, and it has made the manor vulnerable to being seen – a benefit to King Benedict. Then, add in the female guvre being pregnant, Evie’s little sister Lyssa playing pranks and his and Evie’s names on the Wanted list. So, yeah, Trystan has his hands full with worry. Hey, at least Kingsley and his signs bring a much-needed comedic break. However, this just scratches the surface of the latest action-packed (with a hint of) love story that is Apprentice to the Villain.

Maehrer captivates with her will they/won’t they tete a tete between The Villain and Evie. You desperately want Trystan to abandon his need for an evil nature and succumb to the adorable and optimistic Evie. However, we all know a good story draw out their romances and this one seems worth it. Add in some truly investable “minor characters” that become major fan favorites and you have yourself one heck of a page turner! It also has a great reminder that sometimes family comes in the form of more than just blood bonds.

Those looking for romance could pick up a copy of The Apprentice to the Villain, but that’s not all that lies within the pages. You also get magic, mystery, fun, treason and so much more! This immersive tale makes you feel like a resident of Rennedawn who is rooting for the bad guy.
