Arielle – R U The Girl
Q) Who are some of your favorite musical artists?
A) I have a million, but right now I’d say Lauryn Hill. I’m also a huge fan of John Legend, Alicia Keys, Missy Elliot and, of course, the Black Eyed Peas.
Q) Why did you decide to apply for the show?
A) I decided to go for the show because I had some friends telling me that they thought I’d be perfect for it. It really was a last minute thing, two days before the audition I decided I was going to go.
Q) What was your audition tape like for the show?
A) For the audition tape I had to sing, dance and I had to rhyme. So, that was fun! It was pretty cool. From there, basically, I was chosen as a finalist.
Q) What was it like meeting T-Boz and Chilli?
A) Those girls are great! They are very “you call it as you see it” type of girls. They are super down to Earth and super sweet. For me, it was the best experience I’ve ever had meeting any celebrity.
Q) What is your performance background?
A) As far as performing, I’ve been doing it since I was five, singing and dancing. I got into dance in studios since I was very young until I was older. I always sang, but I never really went to school to sing. Five years ago I started taking voice lessons and learning more about my craft.
Q) Who do you plan on keeping in touch with from the show?
A) I plan on keeping in touch with O’so Krispie and actually all of them. The ones I’m closest to is O’so Krispie, Lauren and Naz.
Q) What did you learn most about the music industry from being on the show?
A) It definitely takes a lot of dedication and it’s definitely work. If you don’t absolutely love it and it’s not your passion then you can’t do it because at the end of the day it’s work, even if it is what you love.
Q) Viewers were surprised you were let go. Who do you feel should have been sent home?
A) I don’t know because I wasn’t exactly sure what they were basing it on. My episode was a dance episode, so I think they made the decision that they had to make. Ultimately, I think that they will choose the girl that is meant to be for them. That’s not saying that I’m not an amazingly talented person, I just might not be the girl for them. I might be the girl for someone else. I have no qualms with their choice and I had a great experience.
Q) What are you going to do now that you are no longer on the show?
A) Right now, I’ve been working on music and dancing. I’m working on my website so my fans can hear me and see me and keep in contact with me. I’ve had some different opportunities coming up, but nothing that I’m going to dive into at the moment because I want to wait for the show is over to get the full benefit of being on the show.
Q) Who do you think will be the winner?
A) I have an idea of whom I would vote for, just because if I were Chilli and T-Boz this is the person I’d vote for. It was between two or three, but now I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to one. If I had to vote, I’d choose O’so Krispie.
Q) What was your favorite part of the whole experience?
A) My favorite part of the whole experience was probably just meeting all of the girls, the whole thing really. One of my favorite parts is now, when my friends and family watch it. It’s awesome because they freak out. I’m a teacher, so to me seeing their reaction is my favorite part. If I had a camera in their houses, I’d love to see their reaction because they get so into it. It’s so funny and I love being able to inspire other people and make them happy.
Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?
A) I would like to say thank you for your support and your continued support. Never stop believing in your dreams because they can and will come true.
