Ashley Greene – A Passion for Life

Q.  What are some of the recent projects that you’ve been working on?

A.  I have actually a show that just launched called “Table For Three: Desire.”  That is on the new CW, The WB And UPN merged, they created a new station called MyNetworkTV.  There is a show called “Desire” and a show called “Fashion House” on the network and they are both telenovelas.  Last Tuesday we had the premiere and it’s airing for thirteen weeks, five days a week.  Then I have two movies coming out, one has Jessica Biel and Christina Ricci in it and it is called Home of the Brave.  I believe that is coming out in December and then the next movie I did was with Michael Douglas and Evan Rachel Wood.  It’s called King of California and it’s a Millennium film, that was a lot of fun.  That is releasing in 2007 and then I’ve been talking about doing a horror film in a few months calledThe Husk.

Q.  What can you tell us about the premise of “Desire” and about your character?

A.  It’s basically a show that takes place in two different states, half of it takes place in California and half of it takes place in New Jersey.  Basically the characters from the different states intertwine and that’s how everyone comes together.  It’s a lot of drama and a lot of course hook ups.  The character that I play’s best friend’s father is a powerful man and we’re the rich girls in Jersey talking about the drama.  Kara is my best friend and she gets in trouble with a guy and her dad finds out and he basically goes after the guy who has fled to California. 

Q.  What made you want to be a part of the show?

A.  I think that it’s exciting to be a part of something new.  It’s the first telenovela they have had in the United States.  It’s really exciting to see how it would do, the characters are really fun.  The storyline is what caught me initially, it’s very fast paced and it’s a drama.

Q.  Do you have a most memorable moment from working on the show?

A.  The best part of working on the show is when we filmed on location, it was absolutely gorgeous.  It was beautiful, we were overlooking the water.  It was an amazing experience, one costar in particular I bonded with.  I am very goofy I guess, and she’s exactly the same way.  Everyone is amazing on the show, everyone was super sweet, everyone was nice!  One of the funnier times, I think it was the first episode we were shooting, we had to go down a week before.  We were briefed on everything and I sat beside a guy named Josh and we chatted and he told me who he was playing.  The next weekend we went down there, we both stayed at the same hotel.  We both got there at the same time and for some reason there was a glitch in his hotel room.  Because he couldn’t get ahold of anyone and he didn’t have a room, he ended up sleeping in my room the first night that we were filming.  He had to sleep on the chair and it was so funny.  The first night we have to film he doesn’t have a room! 

Q.  Why should viewers take the time to check out the show?

A.  It’s very exciting, if they watch the pilot, you can go online and see the confessionals and trailers.  It’s action-packed, it’s fun and there is such a wide variety of characters.  It’s different, it’s something you haven’t seen before.

Q.  You described the show as a telenovela, but the critics haven’t been too kind to it.  Do you think that viewers can look beyond the reviews and judge for themselves?

A.  Yeah, the thing is, for some reason a lot of critics don’t like a lot of TV shows or a lot of films.  A buddy of mine worked on a movie that was just released and the critics were awful to them.  But, the people in the film were four or five stars.  The reviews from the critics were basically terrible.  A lot of people look at that and automatically want to bash the show.  It’s really entertaining and if nothing else, check out an episode or two then watch it.  I think it’s amazing and if you don’t, at least you saw it.

Q.  What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

A.  Most of the time I love hanging out, life is so hectic when you’re running around.  I love to shop of course, I definitely hang out with friends and play volleyball at the beach.  I love hiking and being at the beach, cliff diving, stuff like that. Crazy stuff, I want to go sky diving so bad.

Q.  Do you have a latest obsession?  Are you into any particular music group, book, sport or activity?

A.  I really am taking a liking to Thirty Seconds To Mars, the band, I think they’re great.  Jared Leto is the lead singer for them and I think he’s hot.  Some people don’t agree with me, but I think he’s gorgeous.  He’s a great actor and on top of that he’s a great musician.  A lot of times you don’t see where people can do both very well, so I love that band.  They’re great.  Of course I also have to plug “Entourage,” I think everyone is obsessed with that show.
