Interviews
Ashley Jones – Homekilling Queen
By: Lisa Steinberg
Q) What are the recent projects you are working on?
A) I love working on the blog AshleyAJones.com. And you can always see what’s going on with me via social media, mainly Instagram. I did a short film called We Die Alone that is making the festival circuit soon.
Q) How was Connie Manning in the movie Homekilling Queen originally described to you?
A) She was a darker character than I usually play, so I found that interesting. I like figuring out why someone is the way they are.
Q) What advice did director Alexandre Carriere offer during filming that you took to heart?
A) Alexandre is awesome. He usually let us play around and find the heart of the scene. But he had a strong perspective and opinion. He really drove the set with his inspiring energy.
Q) What kind of prep work went into the stunts you preformed for the film?
A) I didn’t do any stunts, but some others did!
Q) How did you shake off a long day of filming?
A) Sometimes that’s tough, but it’s a finite amount of time. It’s easy to get through a lot when there’s a deadline! My real role as a mom never ends!! But I love, love, love it.
Q) What makes Homekilling Queen such a great fit for the Lifetime network?
A) This movie is a suspenseful, fast paced thriller. It’s got all the great elements of your weekly escape TV movie! A little bit sexy, a little sassy and relatable. Overall, the film leaves you thinking about where you put your time and energy….There’s a bigger metaphor here regarding values. It’s exaggerated through the homecoming concept, but substitute that for whatever goals we have. There’s heart to this film.
Q) You’ve done a number of projects with Lifetime. What makes working with this network so special?
A) I treasure the relationships with those I’m in constant contact with that work with the network
Q) We’ve loved you as Bridget Forrester on “The Bold and The Beautiful.” What did you personally take away from your time on the show?
A) That I will always go back! I love my family there. Not to mention what I continue to learn professionally, which was a lot!
Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?
A) I can’t thank them enough for going on this journey with me. I thank them all the time. Instagram, the blog- that’s an outlet to let me convey my gratitude. Love and hugs to y’all.
