Asia Holiday – show me the money
By: Karen Steinberg
Q) How would you describe your sound?
A) R&B, pop, country
Q) Who are some of your musical influences?
A) Dolly Parton, Whitney Houston, Elvis Presley, Beyonce, Micheal Jackson
Q) Your newest song is “show me the money.” What makes it a great follow up to “One in a Million?”
A) It empowers women to chase their bag, live in abundance, have a good time, and get what they deserve in the meantime.
Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?
A) I need music before creating lyrics, usually because I want to serve the beat. I want the lyrics to make sense with the feel of the instrumentation.
Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?
A) A huge hand. Every little part of the song is important to me.
Q) With “One in a Million” and “show me the money” out now, is this a prelude to a full album or EP?
A) Of course! The music isn’t stopping anytime soon. An EP is definitely on the way.
Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?
A) I really love kwn and Chxrry right now. Sabrina Carpenter is also dope, but we’ll see where time takes us.
Q) What artist/musician are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?
A) All three of those. Unique branding and worlds that align with their music and messaging.
Q) You’ve done some incredible theater work. Any plans to return to the stage in the near future?
A) Yes!! The stage is my home. I’ll be there for decades if I’m fortunate enough.
Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?
A) I couldn’t do it without it. You are my greatest gifts. We have so much to accomplish together, but I’m forever grateful for the noise we’ve made already.
