Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would describe my sound to be pop/rock. I love to experiment with all sounds and try not to limit myself to one, but my favorite is when there are elements of rock.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) My biggest influence is Avril Lavigne! I am a huge fan of her and her music, and she has influenced my sound. I also take a lot of influences from artists such as Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo and one of my all-time favorite artists is Knox.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “No Main Character.”

A) “No Main Character” is about mindset I like to say. It begins with you feeling left in the background almost afraid to be seen, but during the song you meet someone who guides you and teaches you that you are worthy of being a main character.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I like to believe it is the fact that sometimes you don’t feel seen, and you feel like your life isn’t exciting or important enough for anyone to notice you, but that is the wrong mindset to have. Sometimes you must make yourself seen and be a bit spontaneous.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The video really plays along with the storyline of the song, which is very clear when listening. It shows a visual of the story and was so much fun to create!!

Q) You’ve won some pretty badass awards for your songwriting! What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Ahhh, thank you!! Writing a song for me varies in many ways, but usually I’ll be sitting on my bed with my guitar, and I’ll find a chord progression I like, a theme that’s either fun or relatable and see where the song takes itself. Sometimes I come up with lyrics first. Sometimes I come up with melody first. It’s never quite the exact same.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I am pretty much part of the whole production process. I’ll show the song to my producer Simon Giles and he’ll lay it down initially and then we work out the vibe and create the song. I am especially very picky when it comes to vocals on a track. I can be quite irritating sometimes. [laughs]

Q) With “No Main Character” out now, is this a prelude to a full album or EP or are you more focused on releasing singles at the moment?

A) I am focusing on releasing singles now, but the plan is once enough songs are released, we will be grouping it into an EP or album. It’s all still in the works.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) Some of my favorite places are The Indian Ocean Hotel in Scarborough, WA, as it where I showcase a lot of my unreleased songs for the first time and practice them to see how they are in front of a crowd. I also love performing at Mandurah Crabfest, as I play there every year, and it is always such an amazing vibe with amazing people!

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) If I could collaborate with anyone on a song it would have to be Jon Bon Jovi. I am a huge Bon Jovi fan, and I think doing a song with him would be such an incredible experience and I would be able to learn so much from him!

Q) What artist/musician are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) The artist I listen to the most is an artist named Knox. The music he makes is the exact kind of music I love and want to create. He really brings back the 2000’s pop/punk rock sound and his lyrics and melodies and so relatable and catchy.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you so, so much for sticking with me and listening to my music! I truly mean it when I say I am so incredibly grateful I get to do this! It truly is not possible without you and if I could, I would give you all the biggest hug!!
