After losing Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), as he risked his life to save his friends and millions of civilians on Earth-1, Kara (Melissa Benoist), Sara (Caity Lotz) and Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) all raise a toast to him calling him a hero. Kate has no idea who Oliver is so she moves the conversation swiftly back onto how they’re going to save the universe. Kara holds onto the hope that there may be a way save the universe and stop the crisis.

The Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) and Ray (Brandon Routh) show up, explaining that they need the Waverider as it is the safest place they could be. So, Harbinger (Audrey Marie Anderson) heads to Earth-74 to find its multiverse Waverider. Now, anyone that watches “Legends of Tomorrow” knows that Gideon (Amy Pemberton) is the controller and voice of the Waverider, but on this earth it’s former Legend Leonard Snart a/k/a Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller). As Harbinger arrives on the Waverider we see Mick (Dominic Purcell) come out, threatening to kill her. She says she thought the ship would be empty and Mick explains that one legend died and the rest gave up. Harbinger gives him a deal of a few cold adult beverages in exchange for the ship.

Now the ship is theirs The Monitor addresses the rest of the team, trying to inspire a bit of optimism. He tells them, over Jonathan Kent’s cries, that there are seven heroes of purest who will help stop the incoming wave of anti-matter – the paragons. They track down a book with the ability to rewrite time called The Book of Destiny, in which The Monitor mentions Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) helped him with the research.

The Monitor tells the crew he knows of a few already. Kara is the paragon of hope and Sara Lance is the paragon of destiny. But two have yet to be tracked down, including the paragon of truth and of courage. The former is a version of Superman and the latter is known as the Bat of the Future. With that the team split up, Kate and Kara go after Batman (Kevin Conroy) while Iris (Candice Patton), Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) look for Superman.

Before that Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) makes his inevitable return. The Monitor tries to calm Kara down, but she’s too angry that out of all the people The Monitor could bring back he chooses Lex. Kate arrives, calming Kara down and issuing Lex a threat.

Harbinger starts to hear some voices while walking around the Waverider chanting “Stop him. He’s got the book!” As she enters the study on the ship, she see’s Luthor with The Book of Destiny. Before she can stop him, he disappears with the book. The Monitor turns up with Harbinger panicking, but he seems calm. It turns out it’s part of his plan as he explains everyone has a role to play in saving the universe.

Elsewhere on the ship, The Flash (Grant Gustin) and Iris deal with Oliver’s death. Barry confesses that he wants to use the Lazarus pits to resurrect him. Iris tries to talk him out of it, but is unsuccessful. The same conversation is also happening with Sara and Mia (Katherine McNamara) as Mia explains that her Auntie, Nyssa Al Ghul (Katrina Law), told her all about the pit while she was training her. Sara tries to explain that if they use the pit Oliver won’t come back as himself, but Mia refuses to listen.

In another reality, Kate and Kara find themselves at Wayne Manor, greeted by Luke (Camrus Johnson). He answers to door and turns them away. Kara busts the door down. Then, a very familiar voice calls down the stairs as Bruce and Kate meet. Luke takes Kara to the library and the two cousins catch up. Apparently, this universe’s Kate died five years ago.

Meanwhile, as Team Superman adventure around trying to find the Superman they need, they start to realize that Lex is using The Book of Destiny to kill off each Superman, not giving them a lot of time.

Back on the Waverider Sara, Barry and Mia call for the help from Constantine (Matt Ryan) to locate one of the remaining Lazarus Pit to help bring Oliver back. After finding a functioning Lazarus Pit, Sara makes Constantine promise that he’ll bring back Oliver, and his soul, but he’s uncertain of his abilities to do so.

In Gotham Kate is told Bruce he’s the paragon of courage, though Bruce says he’s changed. He’s a killer now. His Kate tried to pull together the pieces he left behind and ended up failing. He isn’t the same man as Kate remembered him to be.

Now headed to Earth-96, and one of the last few stops to find their Superman, they head to The Daily Planet. They find a – familiar looking Clark (Brandon Routh) fans of Superman Returns remember. The crew mentions how much he looks like Ray before pulling him aside to fill him in. Lois finds plaques on the wall, including hers, and asks who they’re for. Superman goes on to explain that he lost all his friends and family after an attack occurred in The Daily Planet, concluding that he an endured more pain than any man has before meaning he is the paragon they were looking for.

Just then Lex appears. Using the book, he forces the two Supes to fight each other. They take to the skies in a super dope action sequence. Earth-96 Superman tells Clark he’s going to make him feel the pain he felt when he lost the ones he loved and heads back to The Daily Planet. But with Lex deep into the book, Lois hits him over the head with her shoe and manages to talk Earth-96 Superman down and out of the spell.

Back with the Lazarus we see Sara, Mia, Barry and John (David Ramsey) are now in North Dakota of Earth-18. Sara asks Mia if she’s sure and gets a particular Queen answer, stubborn just like her father. Barry and Constantine come back with Oliver’s corpse, dunk him in and –  nothing. Sara tells them to wait a little longer and with that Oliver jumps out of the pit and starts to attack everyone. So, Sara tranqualizes him until they track down his soul.

In Gotham Bruce takes Kate down to the Batcave. Kara tells her this Bruce murdered Clark and the two realize that maybe The Monitor is a bad judge of character. Bruce throws a punch at Supergirl and reveals he’s packing the green rock. Bruce tries to tell Kate nothing is worth saving and Kate answers telling him to kill her instead. Bruce is sent flying into a machine and electrocuted. With his dying breath, he tells Kate there’s no hope.

On the Wave Rider Kara and Kate return, feeling defeated since Bruce is dead meaning they lost a paragon. But while everyone was out, Ray was working on a machine to help track the remaining paragons. It seems like the tracker is malfunctioning saying a paragon is on the ship, but The Monitor says it’s working fine. In facing her cousin, Kate Kane herself walked the path and became the paragon of courage.

Kara and Kate take some time out together to reflect on the recent news. Kate is having a hard time understanding that she is the paragon of courage, but Kara assures her she more than lives up to the title. Kara gives Kate a gift – a photo of Kate and Alice as adults. Kara confesses she’s back to being the paragon of hope and still has her mind set on bringing Earth-38 back. Kate recalls The Monitor’s warning about how dangerous that might be. Kara walks off and Kate pulls out another souvenir from Bruce’s mansion: kryptonite.

Meanwhile, the Harbinger is having a bit of a rough time. She starts to hear more voices. Suddenly, she is transported to another ship – similar to the Waverider is seems with a voice talking saying he needs her on his side. A dark shadow appears and reveals themselves to be none other than The Anti-Monitor.
