Batwoman – Initiate Self-Destruct

The episode starts at Roman Sionis´s (Peter Outerbridge) where he is giving a speech about masks and how we use them. He´s giving Kate Kane (Wallis Day) a new face and with Enigma´s (Laura Mennell) he has helped erased her memories and turned her into Circe Sionis, Roman´s dead daughter.

Alice (Rachel Skarsten) and Ocean (Nathan Owens) are in bed together in a morning after scene. She´s trying to sneak out of the apartment, but as soon as she opens the door a few of Roman´s men are there to take him. Before Alice can do anything they are gone.

Sophie (Meagan Tandy) is dealing with the aftermath after finding out Ryan (Javicia Leslie) is Batwoman. She asks Agent Tavaroff (Jesse Hutch) if he has a DNA sample from the fight Batwoman had with Back Mask, but he doesn´t trust her and does not answer her questions. She goes to Jacob (Dougray Scott), but he´s not having her confrontation about Russell wasting resources to expose the Bat´s identity. However, Commander Kane had just injected himself with Snakebite, so he´s already on edge and demands her to leave his office.

Luke (Camrus Johnson) has a lead on how to find Angelique (Bevin Bru). Mary (Nicole Kang) suggests how to pinpoint her location from the video Black Mask showed Batwoman, but before she can go after her the bat signal is activated by Sophie who tells her about the DNA sample and her profile being released in a few hours, Sophie can not promise her anything but will try her best to destroy it. Luke tells her over comms that they took a vote and she needs to come back to the Batcave instead of going to rescue Angelique first. Ryan is not having it and follows the trail leading her to Alice torturing some of the false face guys. It turns out she´s looking for Ocean and tells Batwoman that they were both were taken to a place much more fortified and they are in need of back up. So, away they go in the Batmobile.  

Sophie´s still trying to find a way to retrieve Batwoman´s sample but she´s not the only one with eyes on the process, already at an 84%, she calls Luke to tell him that there are too  many eyes on it and that destroying the sample is going to be more complicated. Mary shows up at the crows building with a present from Luke to Sophie, a usb drive that can make the results match to anything once it´s been placed a computer with tier one Access, Mary also helps to get Jacob out of his office, as he´s the only one with that kind of Access. She´s able to get the drive on the computer but finds a lot more files next to Batwoman´s, criminal files and they´d be protecting rapists and murderes not just her. Good thing she has an idea. She goes to Ryan´s criminal records and deletes it from the database, so the results come out with a no match found on the screen.

Alice and Batwoman arrive at the location where Angelique and Ocean are being held. They are both getting ready to record a video making Snakebite so they can replicate it later. Alice creates a distraction getting the guards off their post and they take on all of them. Batwoman teases Alice about Ocean, asking if she loves him. Alice confesses that she had a revelation when her memories were restored by Enigma and she asks Batwoman if Angelique is good enough for her, which is just a reflection of her. Alice figures that it is guilt driving Batwoman to save Angelique and that she can not save everyone. Once they lure all guards from their posts Batwoman handcuffs Alice and goes to save Ocean and Angelique.

Kate, or now Circe, finds a handcuffed Alice and asks where Batwoman is. She tells her to find her in the deck. Batwoman saves Angelique and Ocean, but then finds Circe and they start fighting. She´s almost taken by her, but Alice saves her. However, when the tables turn she´s the one getting beat up. Batwoman does not help her and leaves her.

Towards the end of the episode Sophie finds Snakebite in Jacob´s trash and goes to tell Mary; however, she does not believe it. Angelique goes to see Ryan whom asks her to start over, but she´s going to witness protection and asks Ryan to go with her. But Ryan´s says her life is in Gotham, so they say goodbye. Alice wakes up at the Sionis´s about to get killed but Black Mask changes his mind. He has plans for her.
