Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) Because of my background in the gospel genre, I have a soulful authentic country sound that delivers emotion and powerful vocals.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I grew up listening to George Strait, Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, Shania Twain and Faith Hill. They were some of my favorite country artists.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Boy.”

A) I was pitched the song “Boy” by one of the co-writers, Lance Miller. When I first heard the song, I was blown away. The way the lyrics captured the love this woman had for her significant other gave me chills. Lee Brice was another co-writer on the song, and I was honored to be able to record this beautiful song.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think everyone remembers what it’s like to fall in love for the first time. Your whole world revolves around making that person feel special and loved. This song truly captures that emotion and passion this couple feels for one another. It’s a powerful song.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I usually will come up with a melody first and the lyrics will then come to me. What I love about songwriting is seeing the story come together. In the new year I will be releasing a song that I wrote. I am so excited to be able to soon share it!

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I always have a vision for my music, and I am fortunate enough to work with some amazing people. I usually am there for the entire process. Sal Oliveri is an incredible producer and can bring these songs to life like no other.

Q) What are some themes you explore on your new album Like You’ve Never Been Loved?

A) The theme of this album is love, heartbreak, loss and finding strength after the end of a relationship. It takes listeners through a journey of love. I believe many people will be able to relate.

Q) Which song(s) on the album hold a personal significance for you?

A) “How It All Went Down” hit me hard the first time I heard it. Recording that in the studio was also healing for what I have been through in my own life. “Home” also was another song that spoke to me.

Q) Were there any tracks in particular that you found challenging either lyrically or vocally?

A) I was very careful in the process of picking out the songs I wanted on the album. It needed to be heartfelt, vulnerable and full of emotion. I think through recording it I found healing in some things I was battling in my inner self. It wasn’t a challenge vocally or lyrically. It was more of a challenge facing emotions that I had buried from my own ups and downs in relationships.

Q) What do you hope listeners take away from this new album?

A) I hope they take away strength. I hope the album will speak to them how it has me. I hope it will bring them back to beautiful memories of love and help them find themselves if they have ever felt broken.

Q) Will fans be able to hear you performing live some songs off Like You’ve Never Been Loved soon?

A) I have been doing a lot of live shows promoting the album recently. I absolutely love singing these songs to an audience. My fans will definitely see these songs live.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) The Listening Room in Nashville is very special to me. It’s an intimate acoustic setting and it has my heart for sure.

The Sky Deck is also a place I love to perform at. It’s a concert venue and the energy there is always amazing! Some of my favorite shows I have played there.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would love to collaborate with Jimmie Allen or Cody Johnson. Jimmie has been a friend of mine for years and I have always wanted to work on a project with him. He has an amazing voice. Also, ever since I heard “Til You Can’t” by Cody Johnson I have wanted to collaborate with him as well. His vocals are inspiring.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) Right now, I’ve been listening to Luke Combs’ new album. Every song is so good. He has a very distinct original voice and I just love listening to him sing.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I feel like in today’s world one of the best ways to reach fans is through social media. I can really connect and be on more of a personal level with my fans. It’s a great tool to do live performances and allow fans into your everyday life.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your music?

A) I am grateful to all of my fans. Without you I would not be where I am today. Your support and kindness have helped me make a mark in music. My heart is full because of your continued encouragement and support.
