Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) My sound is very 80s Pop and R&B meets 90s hip-hop with a touch of the future.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Honestly, it’s more like who isn’t a huge influence. I love all music. Really big inspirations when I was young was Avril Lavigne and Celine Dion. As I got into my teens Nicki [Minaj], Beyonce, Drake and Lil Wayne were biggest influences. As I got a little older I, obviously, lost my mind over the Weeknd, like any other Canadian. Mostly I looked up to a lot of Canadian artists because they showed me that I can be as big as they are.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Alone in the Night.”

A) “Alone at Night” is really based on insomnia. I prefer someone to at least be in the house because I simply don’t like being alone unless I’m having a self-care day and I want to be alone. Otherwise, I always have someone here at the house with me. Call it co-dependent or whatever you like. I can’t sleep alone in the night.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think a lot of people like the idea of being alone but when they have been alone too long it can get maddening. My fans connect to that’ my people connect to that. We have an amazing circle of support and friends, but I find if you are alone too often it can get to you that’s why we all stick together. I hope when they hear the song that they could feel one morsal less alone.

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The music video is set to release Sept 2nd along with another single I have been promoting. The music video is truly based off of your people being there for you being together and enjoying your life having fun and at the end of the night always having each other!

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) I create the music with the lyrics I usually have an idea in my mind with a tune in my head.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

I actually produce all of my own music myself or have someone send me a track to collaborate on. I then have them mastered by Omitobeats music.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

Of course, in the new year I will be putting together a full album focusing more on hip hop and rap.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I love performing in Toronto and Hamilton. I am currently in the midst of booking a tour into the states for the next year.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would love to collaborate with The Weeknd, Jack Harlow, Lil Nas X, Meg the Stallion, Shenseea and, of course, Nicki Minaj.

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I love The Weeknd. I have a few of his actual albums. Sickick the DJ can get it, so much respect for his grind and remixes. I love Drake, obviously. I am a Canadian. I think Jack Harlow’s music is pretty great. He is quite inspirational. Also, I love Beyonce; however, I’m not sure I resonate with her new stuff. It’s very Avant garde. I never miss a beat with Nicki or Meg [The Stallion]. Last, but certainly not least, Shenseea is an amazing artist with amazing tunes from the islands absolutely a queen in my eyes

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I love social media. I am a social media and branding genius on my days off from being an artist, I reach a lot of people through social media, and I think there is no greater platform than Instagram. Tik Tok is great in certain ways. I just started on there, but I prefer Instagram to anything. It may not be for everyone, but it is for me. It took me time to grow a following like four years really. Building a following is more about consistency than anything.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Any fan or supporter I have of my work, a great many thanks go out to you. I wouldn’t keep doing it if I didn’t know people were out there supporting and listening!
