Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?

A) I have The Last Witch Hunter coming out in October, but “Scream” is the project I’ve filmed most recently.

Q) The cast has such great chemistry. Was it there from start of the show?

A) From day one I was nervous because I was coming in after everybody else. Everyone was so welcoming and opening. Sometimes we are not like our characters because a lot of characters can be darker and a bit meaner like Brooke (Carlson Young), Will (Connor Weil) and Jake (Tom Maden). The actors, themselves, are the most genuine people I’ve ever known. So, that was a wonderful thing to come into straight out of the gate. As time has gone on with us working together, we have just gotten closer and closer. Actually, since we have gotten back from filming we have seen each other every week!

Q) You talked about characters being dark and Audrey has had her own dark turns. What can you tease is in store for her this season?

A) We just got to see her dark side, as you said. That’s really going to effect her relationships with the other characters. Seeing that video really threw Noah (John Karna) for a loop and standing up for Audrey is something Emma (Willa Fitzgerald) hasn’t done in a long time. The girls are starting to build their trust back up  and Audrey might have a good talk with Noah before they can get their friendship back on the road. It’s really interesting for them to deal with the aftermath of Audrey’s outburst.

Q) Many fans ship Emma and Audrey together. How do you see that relationship playing out?

A) There is obviously a closeness between them. There is a fondness they have for each other. If there are any romantic feelings there, it is definitely one sided. So that is something that if we go into, it would be another fun thing to play with. What if it is not just one sided? I feel like exploring that could be pretty fun! So, yeah, I might ship it a little bit…

Q) MTV does great at showcasing a lot of LGBT characters, especially with Audrey being bisexual. How do you feel about being a role model?

A) I’m so proud that Audrey has become so integral to this whole thing. She really is a brilliant representation of bisexuality and bi-curiousity – all aspects of the “B” in LGBT. I have to say that I’m really, really proud to be a part of that because everybody should have representation. I’m really thrilled for MTV saying the word “bi-curious” because not even “Orange Is The New Black” will say the word. They say, “I like girls,” “I like boys,” or “I like people.” They said bisexual once and the character said, “No.” It’s quite interesting that MTV took the step to actually say the word. What is intersting about Audrey is that she is still figuring herself out. That’s another thing I think MTV is doing really well by showing bisexuality, bi-curiosity. Figure out who you are, gay straight or whatever. For kids, part of growing up is discovering who you are and sexuality is one aspect. By incorporating the actual questioning stage, I think is a beautiful thing.

Q) Do you recognize yourself in Audrey?

A) I see a bit of myself. We’re both pretty spunky and we both have the ability to lose ourselves when we get too passioante about something. That can be a blessing and a curse! For Audrey, we have just gotten to see it as a curse.

Q) What is in store for the rest of the season?

A) So many things are happening in the final three episodes! I love how each character changes based on who is dying and what is happening around them. I think the writers do a good job and the characters react honestly.

Q) What did you add to your role as Audrey that wasn’t originally scripted for you?

A) Audrey’s mom has cancer. That’s always been part of who the character is, but we found when we were playing around with her wardrobe what we could incorporate into Audrey. The key necklace that she wears is a key that we said she got from her mother right before her mother left to go take care of herself and get past cancer. It’s something she never takes off and is in every single episode. If it is invisible, it’s just tucked under Audrey’s shirt. When you put in this little momento and you put it as coming from this other character, I feel likes it brings in a whole new aspect of having this on your mind and it is in the background. While it is something I didn’t bring to the writers, it is something I expanded upon. I do hope the writers like it!

Q) Was there ever a part you tried out for that you are maybe now glad you didn’t get?

A) I feel like that happens a lot. There are certain roles you audition for that you really, really want, but don’t get and you feel like you’d be awesome. Then, when you actualy watch it whether or not you feel like you could have done a fantastic job it doesn’t change the fact that someone else got it and did a fantastic job. I feel it’s important to stop feeling that twinge of jealousy. Take a step back and say, “You did a great job. I’m impressed and you deserve it.” I feel like no matter what role that happens with, I’m sure who ever got it did an awesome job as well.

Q) What is one of your current guilty pleasures?

A) “Impractical Jokers” on TruTV! I love them! They are hilarious! I think they are so funny!

Q) You are a part of social media. Do you enjoy the instant fan feedback you receive?

A) I love interacting with the fans! I think one of my favorite parts of the job is interacting with people. One of my favorite things is to get a message saying, “I had low expectations, but you guys really delivered!” I think that is one of the most magical responses. We went in there and changed peoples’ minds. We really influenced someone! Part of why I love this job is effecting people.

Q) What would you like to be sure we share with “Scream” fans?

A) Episode seven is a doosie and, honestly, the rest of the season is such a ride. I can’t wait for everyone to watch it!
