Q) How would you best describe your sound?

A) Ooof. Surprisingly, it’s a challenging question! Being three different songwriters, we’re always following whatever genre whim is on the brain, so our sound ends up as a collage of many different influences. But no matter the song, it’s dramatic, catchy and full of life.

Q) Who are your Top 3 musical influences?

A) Hardest question ever. Maybe Abba, Paramore, Electric Light Orchestra and the score from The Wizard of Oz movie (obviously).

Q) Tell us the story behind your latest single, “Tiltawhirl.”

A) This is a great story! We wrote “Tiltawhirl” on a little writing retreat at Caleb’s parent’s house in Boston. They had a beautifully out-of-tune upright piano, so we sat around that and started plunking out the song. We wanted something ecstatic and short – in and out like a gut punch. The concept of meeting a previous love on a blind date is actually based on an episode of “How I Met Your Mother.” Go figure.

Q) You also shot a music video for “Tiltawhirl.” How did you come up with the concept for the music video?

A) We live in Brooklyn, so going to Coney Island was probably the simplest decision we’ve ever made. It was such a blast to shoot – though you’re not supposed to film on the rides, so we did our best to hide from the park staff. Jess suggested we incorporate a blow-up doll, which added to the absurdity of it all, so that was a no-brainer.

Q) Since its release, what has been the reaction to “Tiltawhirl” from fans and listeners?

A) It has undoubtedly scratched an itch for some of our more alternative rock fans. It’s fun to be able to put out a big theatrical track like “Lovers Always Lose” and then follow it up with a two-minute straight and narrow summer pop song. Gotta keep the fans on their toes.

Q) You also previously released “Lovers Always Lose,” which I love! With releasing these two singles, is there a potential full-length album in the works?

A) Yay! So glad you love “Lovers.” So do we! [smile] There IS a bigger album project in the works! An official announcement is coming very soon, but it will tie together all the singles so far in a really magical way. We’re super excited.

Q) What do you hope fans take away from listening to your music?

A) We love telling stories through music and these days many indie bands have catchy songs and cool vibes but are missing that feeling of narrative. So, we hope fans take away something catchy to hum on the train and some funny/sad/beautiful little stories to chew on.

Q) Are there any plans for tour dates to promote the new music?

A) Of course! We’ll be hitting the road this March! Mainly going west and north, out to Chicago and back. Announcing those dates super soon.

Q) Which song is your favorite to play live?

A) Another tricky question. It’s usually just whatever new song we just finished. We also have this disco-ballad ghost-story number called “Virginia,” which is always an absolute blast. It never lets us down and is just the dance-y energy boost we need to get through the end of a show.

Q) If you could collaborate with anyone on an upcoming project, who would you love to work with and why?

A) Not to be obviousssss, but Chappell Roan. It’s SUCH good pop music. We don’t even need to collab – honestly, Jess and she could just brush each other’s hair and that would be fine.

Q) Who are some of your favorite artists that you are listening to at the moment?

A) Madison Cunningham, Big Thief, the new Remi Wolf <3

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters of your music?

A) THANK YOU. We love you. Thanks for listening to our songs and loving them as much as we do. There is SO MUCH MORE COMING, so we’re glad you’re all along for the ride.
