Brendan Penny – Chesapeake Shores
By: Jamie Steinberg
Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?
A) I just finished Summer in the Vineyard with Rachael Leigh Cook and that aired last weekend. It did well.
Q) What was it about “Chesapeake Shores” that made you want to be a part of the series?
A) I liked the role of Kevin. I hadn’t played someone with such a deep connection to the army, and I found that intriguing.
Q) How was Kevin O’Brien originally described to you?
A) Straight shooter. Big brother. Responsible.
Q) What have you found challenging about portraying him?
A) I don’t think it’s been challenging getting to know Kevin. I’ve just enjoyed the process along the way.
Q) Was there instant chemistry when the cast began working together or did you spend some time together to bond as a “family?”
A) Like any family, there are always bumps in the road. Lots of different personalities, but everyone gets along very well and respects each other.
Q) What can you tease is in store this season for Kevin and the O’Brien family?
A) Kevin journey for Season Two is all about figuring out exactly who he is and what he wants. It’s a reflective season for him. As for the family…just watch because there’s way too much to talk about. [laughs]
Q) What have been some of your most memorable moments from filming “Chesapeake Shores?”
A) The cast. Great people, and developed some lasting friendships.
Q) What have you taken away from your time working on the series?
A) What I always take away…How fortunate I am to be a working actor.
Q) You are a part of social media. Do you enjoy the instant fan feedback you receive to episodes?
A) Yes and no. I’m more of a live in the moment kind of guy. Although, I enjoy responding to questions and fans. I like the connection.
Q) What would you like to say to Chessies, fans of the show?
A) Thank you for watching. Thank you for the support and I hope you enjoy the show!
