Carla Jimenez – Hamilton’s Cats(travaganza)

Q) You’re absolutely hysterical in “The Mick.” What has been your favorite episode to shoot so far?

 

A) Well thank you! I’m torn between two episodes…“The Grandparents” & “The Implant” as both were such FUN episodes to film.

 

Q) What was the audition process for that like? Did you know from the start what a different and darkly funny character Alba would be?

 

A) It was like any other audition in the sense that I went and auditioned like everyone else and they had me come back a couple times before they made a decision. I knew from the audition sides that she was gonna be off the wall, it was such a wacky scene. I loved it!

 

Q) If the show gets a season three, where would you like to see it go?

 

A) I always love when the family is together for whatever reason. I think it could be fun see some more of Alba’s family (maybe a brother or sister?)

 

Q) I remember seeing a group picture with you, Justina Machado, Gina Rodriguez, Stephanie Beatriz and a ton of other fierce ladies at the Latinas Who Lunch event awhile back—you all are the ultimate “squad goals.” What advice do you have for young Latina women looking to break into the business?

 

A) I would tell them HOW IMPORTANT they are and that they are very much needed. It’s vital to represent your people and be visible to others coming after you. Always be prepared and open to ideas. It’s amazing the places it can take you.

 

Q) What show would you most love to guest star on?

 

A) “Schitt’s Creek” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” (such fun, funny shows).

 

Q) Can you tell us how you got involved with Kitty Bungalow and why you think it’s such an important charity?

 

A) Actually, a friend I used to do Yoga with works with them and suggested me for this upcoming event. I immediately said yes because Kitty Bungalow is an organization I believe strongly in.  They know it’s SO IMPORTANT to raise awareness and get these cats rehabilitated and with new loving FOREVER homes!

 

Q) Can you tease your CATstravaganza performance for us?

 

A) It is going to be…MEOWGICAL, a PURRFECT evening of MEOWTASTIC PURRRFORMANCES. (You did say tease? [laughs])

 

Q) What do you hope CATstravaganza attendees take away from this charity event?

 

A) I hope they come away knowing how important the work KITTY BUNGALOW is doing, that they can hopefully give to support this organization and that they left enjoying a beautiful event with such lovely people…and cats! 🐈
