Q) What are the recent projects you have been busy working on?

 

A) Currently working on FOX’s hit medical drama “The Resident.”

Q) Please tease what is new this season on “Sistas” and with your character Gary.

 

A) New season brings about new drama, I will say that. Gary is still going to be Gary. But he goes on an interesting journey that I think fans will enjoy following Season 2.

 

Q) What initially made you want to be a part of this series?

 

A) For one, it was an opportunity to work with great Tyler Perry. But also diving into a role and character that was far different than anything I’d portrayed on screen in my career.

 

Q) What keeps challenging you about portraying Gary?

 

A) He is unpredictable because he wears his heart on his sleeve, which can be good and bad. So, that always presents unique opportunities to portray him; when situations arise throughout the season.

 

Q) Were you familiar with any of your costars before working with them on this series?

 

A) No, I wasn’t outside of meeting a few at our auditions in passing. It was fresh start for us all.

 

Q) There is such great cast chemistry. Do you all spend much time together off screen as you do on screen?

 

A) We spend a lot of time together off screen as much as we can. We have all gotten very close, so whenever we are in the same area we try to meet up and enjoy each other’s time.

 

Q) What are some episodes fans of the show should look out for this season?

 

A) ALL of them!!

 

Q) Who would you most like to see make an appearance on “Sistas” in the future?

 

A) I don’t know. It depends on what Mr. Perry has up his sleeve. I’m sure the new faces added each season will be talented and create a stir. As long as Gary is there, I’m good. [winks]

 

Q) You are a part of social media. What kind of fan feedback have you received to the show?

 

A) You know we are a very blessed. Our fans have been INCREDIBLE! They have showered us with so much love and support that it’s almost overwhelming. We can’t thank them enough for making our show a hit. Even if they are not all in on Gary. [laughs] I love the interactions we get to have with them on social media.

 

Q) What do you think it is about “Sistas” that has made it a fast fan favorite series?

 

A) It is a relatable show with a lot of twists and turns and relationship drama. Whether it is something that has directly happened to us or we know someone that has or is going through it, we all can relate to the ups and downs of life, friends and relationships.

 

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who are fans and supporters of the work you do?

 

A) I don’t take it for granted. There are so many people that you can be fans of and to be someone that they are choosing to follow and support is amazing.  I have tremendous gratitude. So, I say, “Thank you. I appreciate it and it makes me want to work harder.”
