Corbin Bleu – Taking Flight

Q.  What are the current projects that you are working on?

A.  “Flight 29 Down” on Discovery Kids on NBC, High School Musical for the Disney Channel, and Hannah Montana for the Disney Channel.

Q.  Can you tell us about the premise for High School Musical and about your character?

A.  “High School Musical” is about a basketball jock and a brainiac girl, and the commotion they cause when they express their desires to audition for the school musical.  I play Chad, who lives and breathes for basketball.  When he finds out his best friend and captain of the team wants to sing, his narrow mind goes on overload.

Q.  What made you want to be a part of this project?

A.  I have a background in musical theatre so to get the opportunity to be in a musical movie was very exciting.

Q.   In High School Musical you get to showcase your singing and dancing skills.  Why is that aspect important to you?

A.  I’ve been studying dance since I was two years old, and I’ve also been working on my singing.  So being able to showcase my skills lets me know that all my hard work is paying off.

Q.  Do you have a most memorable moment from filming High School Musical?

A.  After having a great day filming and hanging out at dinner, the cast came into the hotel pretty late.  We were all still very excited from the day, so to get out the rest of our energy, we performed the dance finale in the middle of the hotel lobby.

Q.  You are also working on the show “Flight 29 Down,” how is it getting to work with a cast of actors around your own age?

A.  Amazing, we have become very close friends, and have built great relationships that I feel will grow even stronger in the next season.

Q.  “Flight 29 Down” films in Hawaii, what’s it like filming in such a tropical location?

A.  The Island’s beauty and serenity is something that can’t be imagined unless you experience it for yourself.

Q.  Why should viewers take the time to watch “Flight 29 Down” for those who haven’t caught the show yet?

A.  It has a very strong and talented cast.  The writing is intelligent and clever.  And it sends a great positive message that can appeal to everyone.

Q.  What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

A.  I love going to the dance studio to take class.  I enjoy singing and playing my piano.  I also like to go to the movies with my friends.  And whenever I get the opportunity, I love going to see live theatre.

Q.  What is your latest obsession, are you into any particular book, music group, sport or activity?

A.  While on the set of “Flight 29 Down,” the whole cast became obsessed with playing Boggle.  We would play it between scenes and even during lunch.  Now whenever we’re together we have to play.  Sometimes we have two separate games going on at the same time.

Q.  What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A.  Thank you so much for all of your love and support.  I appreciate you more than words can express.  I hope you enjoy all my new projects, and I wish you all peace.
