Q) What is your favorite aspect of your character Farkle?

A) I would have to say my favorite aspect of the character is the contrast that I get to play. He’s fun and goofy, but I also get to have real moments, which gives it a nice balance and keeps it challenging for me as an actor.

Q) “Girl Meets World” and other Disney shows have really been setting a precedence with messages about equality, feminism and media asking more. What are your thoughts on Disney pushing these boundaries and why it’s so important?

A) These issues are very important and I am glad that they are being talked about in kids’ television shows. I think it’s important for kids to be introduced to them so they have awareness of what is happening and of the challenges that people are facing in the world.

Q) What can you tease about the season finale of “Girl Meets World” and with your character Farkle?

A) Our season two finale airs March 11that 8:30pm on Disney Channel. Our characters are wrapping up their time in middle school and are leaving behind their legacy for the future generations.

Q) What have you learned from your experiences being a part of “Girl Meets World?”

A) I’ve learned that experience is the best education. Working on “GMW” for the last three years has given me so many opportunities to grow as an actor. As the seasons go on, the writers are challenging us with more complex scripts and more room to expand.

Q) What is a day of filming like for you?

A) A day of filming generally goes like this: Come in, go to hair and makeup, get into wardrobe and do an hour of school. Then, once I’m called to set, we’ll camera block, rehearse the scene a few times and then shoot it. Shooting a scene can be anywhere from two to ten takes, usually somewhere in the middle. Once the scene is done, we’ll move onto the next scene. We shoot an episode in two days and most of the second day is spent prepping and doing the show with our studio audience.

Q) You have fantastic comedic timing, is this something that has come naturally or is it something you have studied and honed?

A) Thank you. There hasn’t been much studying up to this point. I started on stage so when I began to focus more on television and film, I took some film classes to make sure I was moving in the right direction. I think a lot of acting comes from experience, watching how people interact in real life and then bringing that to the writing. In terms of delivering jokes, I’ve always had a knack for making people laugh so it hasn’t been too difficult for me.

Q) What’s one goal you have set for yourself here in 2016 that you would like to accomplish this year?

A) I want to further my personal education in movies, music, theatre, art, etc. I feel that up until now, I haven’t had a good appreciation towards music and movies for the art they are. I want to open myself up to different genres and broaden my horizons.

Q) What do you hope that fans take away from watching “GMW?”

A) Every episode has a lesson of some sort. So, of course, I hope the messages come across and make a difference in people’s lives.
