Q) Who are your musical influences?

A) Jon Bellion, Julia Michaels, Celine Dion, Sigur Rós and Broods. I’m all over the map, I know.

Q) Tell us the story behind the song “Earthquake.”

A) I wrote “Earthquake” at a time in my life where I was questioning everything — my belief systems, my patterns, my habits, my faith — and really asking myself what I believed and why I believed those things. I realized that so much of what I believed about myself and my reality were things I had either been told to believe or were things that had been projected on me by someone else and that I had created a character of sorts based on those things. So, I wanted to know who I really was at the root of all of that stuff and get back to the truth of who I am. It was a really earth-shattering moment, on many levels, being that everything was in question but it was also incredibly healing.

Q) The other three tracks, “New Eyes,” “Right Direction” and “Spiritual” were all earlier released songs. Why did you decide to include them on Earthquake?

A) This whole EP is a reflection of my healing journey over the past several years. I experienced a lot of disappointment at the end of 2017 and I started writing this EP in 2018 as I started to really dig in and heal the underlying things that were causing the disappointment. Having all of these songs on one project just felt like a complete collection and a completed phase of my life.

Q) What do you hope fans take away from Earthquake?

A) I hope that they feel empowered by knowing that within perceived failure there is power and the opportunity to look within and heal. I really think that within the fear there is such personal freedom.

Q) Why do you believe that music has such healing power on the soul?

A) Music is healing on so many levels. First of all, the lyrical aspect has such power to tell a story or reflect an emotion. Melody has that same capability. Melodies are incredibly emotional and can take you back in time, bring you to tears and make you feel deeply. There is also a sound healing aspect to music through the frequency in which the music is tuned. Our standard tuning is 440Hz, which there is speculation to a potentially harmful dissonance within that tuning compared to the old standard tuning of 432Hz. I chose to record the single “Earthquake” in 528HZ because of its healing properties and resonance throughout nature.

Q) You attended college in Nashville, TN. How did the experience of living in one of the biggest music cities help you with your music career even to this day?

A) Yes, Belmont is such an incredible school! I studied voice and performance there! Nashville was such a great experience all around. There are so many talented people in that city, it’s crazy! Nashville really taught me how to write a song. Some of the greatest songwriters in the world live there and I am so grateful that I got to learn from many of them.

Q) You also recently started a podcast called “The Love Freq.” What has been one of your favorite episodes to record for your podcast?

A) Yes! This podcast has really been so much fun, and has really gone hand in hand with this EP. It’s a podcast in line with 528Hz, the frequency I mentioned earlier, which is known as “the love frequency” due to its presence throughout all of nature. It’s all about love and healing and asking ourselves the hard questions that lead us to discovering our authentic truth and allowing us to live our most creative expression. It’s so hard to pick a favorite episode, but I really enjoyed speaking with the music producer, Forest Whitehead, about creating intentionally with not only our artwork, but our lives!

Q) Are there any upcoming podcast episodes that you are really excited to talk about?

A) I am really excited to share two episodes! The first one is with me talking about the stories behind EP. And the second is with my producer Cameron about the process of making it!

Q) How has utilizing various social platforms like YouTube, Instagram and “The Love Freq” podcast helped you during this time?

A) I think more so than ever our world needs love and unity right now. Between my music and “The Love Freq” Podcast, I have made it my mission to spread only that.

Q) You had the opportunity to tour with such country greats Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney and Kane Brown. What was one of your favorite tour moments?

A) The Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour with Miranda Lambert was one for the books. We toured thirteen different cities and I got to learn from one of the greatest artists of our lifetime. That is something I will never forget and a memory I will always cherish.

Q) What do you miss most about performing live?

A) I miss connecting face to face with each and every fan. They light me up like no other.

Q) Is there anyone you would love to collaborate with in the future?

Jon Bellion! I think he is a crazy talented songwriter and producer. I would love to write with him and have him produce a track! What a dream that would be!

Q) What would you like to say to your fans & supporters of your music?

A) I love you like family and I am so grateful for your support over all of these years. You truly give me an opportunity to live out my dream and for that I am so, so grateful!
