Coming off the recording of “Look At Us Now,” the band members of The Six are on the verge of stardom. Graham (Will Harrison), Warren (Sebastian Chacon), and Eddie (Josh Whitehouse) exit a building to hear their song on a car radio. Karen (Suki Waterhouse) hears it while perusing records in a store, even buying their record for a fan who doesn’t have enough to buy it. Daisy (Riley Keough) overhears it during a shift at the diner, running to the jukebox and seeing her name through the glass.

But Billy’s (Sam Claflin) reaction is quite different as he turns off the song despite Camila’s (Camila Morrone) protests. Her protests are soon muffled by the other band members entering the kitchen for breakfast while Karen sifts through the mail. And breakfast is soon forgotten as Karen shows the fruits of their labor paying off: each band member receiving $600 for the publishing rights of their new song

While the other band members spend their money on a surfboard, attire, band equipment, or investments, Billy decides to move his family out of their first rental into their very own place. With Billy, Camila, and Julia safely ensconced in their own home, the rest of the band finds themselves with a bit more freedom. Their first night without the happy little family has Karen offering the rest of the band members some drugs as they trip on the roof of their abode. And the acclaim does not stop there, especially when The Six is now asked to perform at the Diamondhead Festival in Oahu.

Billy is eager to not only get back to performing live but also to continue recording a new album. However, the performance of The Six at the Diamondhead Festival comes with one little caveat: Daisy will also be there to perform their hit song. As Daisy prepares to get ready for the performance, Billy tries to pep-talk her through it and remind her that she is to come on closer to the end of their set. The band takes the stage and in true Daisy fashion, she disregards Billy’s advice and decides to come out for her performance on the second song. Daisy and The Six perform “Look At Us Now” to an enthusiastic audience as Teddy (Tom Wright) and fellow record executive Don Midelton (Ross Partridge). After their performance Daisy stays on stage to continue performing with the band.

Afterwards, a peeved Billy confronts Daisy to why she didn’t listen…which she rebuffs. But Billy ends up getting the last say when during an interview he says that Daisy joining the band is not going to happen as the song collaboration was a one-time thing, upsetting Daisy and causing further tension between her and Billy. Karen later confronts Billy and questions why Daisy can’t be part of the band. Billy then explains to Karen that he believes Daisy joining may destroy The Six and they wouldn’t survive her.

Fueled by her anger, Daisy  returns to California and delves into her songwriting with a vengeance. But while she attempts to brainstorm her next song while spending time with Simone (Nabiyah Be), both overhear Simone’s voice on the television during the performance of another group. Daisy is ready to place her anger on the sound engineer that used Simone’s voice, yet Simone stops her and explains to Daisy that since she has started talking with Bernie, she is ready for a change of scenery by heading to New York. Seeing how happy Simone is with talking to Bernie, Daisy encourages the move and the friends bid farewell to one another.

Losing her first real friend in California, Daisy decides to move out of the apartment and into a room at the Chateau Marmont, thinking that being surrounded by people will make her feel less alone. Instead, she feels more lonely and decides to impulsively break into her childhood home…only to find that her parents have moved without telling her. Falling asleep in her childhood bedroom, Daisy is woken up and arrested by the police for breaking into the house. With no one else to talk to, Daisy calls Karen to help bail her out.

While Daisy talks to Teddy about potentially working with a band, Teddy tells her that working with Billy may be tough because it would be a fight over the frontman position. Meanwhile, Camila sees the interview that Billy gave in Hawaii and tries to persuade Billy that maybe he acted rash in his words. In an effort to bring some peace, Camila decides to invite Daisy to their housewarming party…without Billy’s knowledge.

The day of the housewarming Karen and Graham arrive to the party first and help Camila set up. As Karen heads outside for setup, Camila confronts Graham about addressing his feelings for Karen and telling her. Graham is reluctant, but Camila is adamant that he needs to be honest.

With the party in full swing, Daisy arrives with a pineapple and a bottle of wine…which promptly smashes while exiting the cab. But no matter, Daisy is there and Camila greets her with warmth. When Daisy heads off to get herself a drink, Billy asks Camila why she invited Daisy. Her reasoning? She just wanted to meet her. With this, Billy takes the opportunity to be the bigger person and finds Daisy grabbing a drink. He apologizes for his behavior and asks if Daisy would like to write and record more music with the band. When Daisy asks why Billy wants her to join, he does not give an answer.

Coincidentally, the power goes out during the party and Camila scrambles to light some candles throughout the house. During the outage, Daisy hears baby Julia upstairs and goes to get her….bringing her downstairs to Billy. When Billy takes his daughter from Daisy, he offers his thanks and notes that even his daughter seems to like Daisy.

To liven up the party with some music while they wait for the power to be restored, Karen sits down at the piano and begins a rendition of Rod Stewart’s “Ooh La La” for the partygoers. Quickly, the other band members join in on instruments…and so does Daisy. Seeing how effortlessly Daisy is able to work with the band, Billy comes in to sing as well. The performance is well-received by all.

Riding off the high of their impromptu performance, Karen and Graham head into another room. Deciding to shoot his shot, Graham goes to kiss Karen and is rebuffed. While Karen knows Graham’s intentions, she is not interested and leaves him there. Even though he has been rejected, Graham’s luck turns around as a young woman named Caroline (Olivia Rose Keegan) comes to sit with him and strike up a conversation.

With the party winding down and Billy soothing Julia in a running car, Camila joins them in the car and tells Billy that Daisy is what he needs in the band. The next morning after one too many Mai Tais, Daisy wakes up on the Dunne’s couch and Camila is there with coffee, a smile, and telling Daisy that the band is a family that she should become a part of. Later on tape, an older Camila talks about how trust is not an easy thing and wonders whether her instinct to invite Daisy to the party was a mistake.
