Q) How would you describe your sound?
A) A cross between new age hip hop and pop
Q) Who are some of your musical influences?
A) Drake and MJ
Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Blush.”
A) It’s basically a song about smooth talking a girl and one of the biological reactions to said talking.
Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?
A) I’m sure some visual a person it makes them want to make blush and, on the other hand, I’m sure some are on the side of those blushing.
Q) You also have the single “In My Dreams” out. What was it about “Blush” and “In My Dreams” that stood out and made you want to release them?
A) To me these are the best songs on the project, especially in my dreams. I love the beat and how the song has a fun energy
Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?
A) Most times I write to the beat, but sometimes I have a concept or part of a song written then I find a beat I feel matches it.
Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?
A) The music I have released has just been me on the writing and vocal side. Production is something I haven’t fully stepped into yet
Q) What can fans expect from a live Darrin Jones performance?
A) Vibes on vibes!
Q) What songs off your To the Moon EP are you looking forward to performing live?
A) “In My Dreams” and “4me”
Q) What do you hope listeners take away from listening to your new EP as a whole?
A) That I’m not just a “rapper,” but a real artist the fact that I make actual music that’s actually versatile.
Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?
A) I haven’t performed yet but I like the vibe of recording in Atlanta the most.
Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?
A) Young Thug, Carti, Drake
Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?
A) I’ve been listening to a lot of Mazzy Star and Hope Sandoval. I really like the wavy, hazy hippy vibes.
Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?
A) Because it’s a direct way to feed them content and get an instant review on it.
Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?
A) I appreciate the support and I can’t wait to have more for them to be a fan of. If they like the now they’re in luck because we’re not even out the warm ups yet.
