DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – The Ex-Factor

The episode starts back in Palms Springs in the year 2045. A kid (Eli Tsepiso Larmour) is getting some sort of a blue smoothie when an Alien named Lord Knoxicrillion (Andrew Morgado) shows and insists the owner of the store to tell him who the ruler of earth is, but they´re both confused. The alien sees a magazine with DJ S´more Money´s (Ryan Bell) face on it regarding some singing competition to keep Da Throne, which the alien takes literally and goes to look for him.

At John´s (Matt Ryan) home he and Zari (Tala Ashe) are having a sexy moment that gets interrupted by all of her phones and then by Behrad (Shayan Sobhian) with a call from Les-Lay (Melanie Rose Wilson) who comes bearing some bad news. DJ S´more Money was killed by Lord Knoxicrillion during live taping of Da Throne. They go back to the Waverider and Zari informs everyone of the situation. It turns out that in her future there is a wildly popular competition keeping network television alive. It surprises Nate (Nick Zano) that is still exists. Constantine asks Gideon (Amy Louise Pemberton) to play the video that shows the alien killing the host.

Ava (Jess Macallan) is not sure why an alien would kill a reality TV star, but Behrad thinks maybe he confused him for a real king. So, they all make a goal to stop him before it happens. However, before they go, Mick (Dominic Purcell) comes out and asks why don´t they use the ship to find Sara (Caity Lotz). Ava says that´s not how it works and that he should stay and show Spooner (Lisseth Chavez) how things work around the spaceship, but Mick refuses.

Gary (Adam Tsekhman) is trying to wake Sara up. However, the poison she took from last episode´s alien is getting worse so it seems. Sara says she’s too weak to fight and it´s up to Gary now. She reminds him that he´s a human eating alien. So, she hides and Gary turns into his original form, eating most of the agents following them. While this is happening, Sara sees Ava and follows her. Gary finds that is a place filled with Ava clones. The one Sara is following tries to get her inside of a pod, but Sara says she knows her own Ava and does not take the bait. She still walks into it to find Bishop.

Back to the Legends, they are trying to infiltrate the singing competition from the future. Zari´s got it as she takes off her glasses and does her influencer thing attracting everyone from the door so the others can enter. The competition then gets interrupted by the alien. He tells the host (Marco Soriano) he´s there to kill the King, but is stopped by Nate and Behrad. Ava manages to trick Lord into walking on to the Waverider and trapping him. She asks if he knows a Sara Lance, but it turns out he does not. He was just sent to take over the Earth´s ruler and if he wins an invasion will happen. Although, luckily, they are able to convince him to fight for Da throne with singing and dancing.

Zari plans to be the wild card of the competition and puts on a musical number which is amazing. She wins and moves forward to the finals. She gets a visit from her mother (Mitra Lohrasb) who tells her she wants Zari to be happy and asks if she really cares about that magic man, meaning John, (who´s listening to the whole conversation). Zari says no. After that they both sit down with the host for an-interview; however, Constantine storms out of it. Zari follows him and reminds him that this is not real and that they are not together which is how they both like it, but John says he´s done. DJ S’more Money walks in and offers Zari help to win yet he gives her and Lord Knoxicrillion the same song. He goes first which puts the legends in trouble, but Zari being Zari she comes up with a better song “Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone you Shouldn´t Have)” by the Buzzcocks. She wins.

Rory does something irrational and asks Gideon to unlock and fire at the alien ships. Ava tells him they need to talk, but he points his gun at her. She’s tired of his bad attitude and his drinking. She explains that she needs him. She shares as Sara is missing she is not just hard on him, but ultimately asks him to get himself together or get the hell off her ship. This works because he comes up with kind of a plan to find Sara.
