Q) How would you describe your sound?

 

A) I would describe my sound as light, airy, and dream-like pop.

 

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

 

A) Some of my musical influences include Julia Michaels and Lennon Stella. They are both so talented, and are reshaping the pop music world.

 

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Oh.”

 

A) “Oh” is really a girl power anthem or just an anthem for anyone who wants to gain confidence to leave something that is bad for them.

 

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

 

A) I think a lot of fans can connect to “Oh” in their own unique ways. Everyone has been through an unhealthy relationship in some regard and it is important to know that it is okay to put yourself first, and do what is best for you.

 

Q) What can you tease about a video to go along with the track?

 

A) No music video this time around, but I did drop the official audio for “Oh” onto YouTube!

 

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics? 

 

A) I do need music before I can create a melody/lyrics. My songwriting process is mostly just listening to the track over and over again and seeing what comes out, and what ultimately sticks.

 

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music? 

 

A) I do have control over the production of my tracks, but I also have a few trusted professionals in my corner who I sometimes just give full reign to and they magically make my vision come to life.

 

Q) What can fans expect from a live Desanka performance?

 

A) I have not yet performed live and it is not in the cards for me at the moment. But if the right opportunity comes around, I will maybe consider.

 

Q) Will there be a full EP or album coming in the near future?

 

A) There may be an EP or album coming in the future, I’m not too sure yet. But I do know that I have a few more singles in my catalog that I’m working on.

 

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

 

A) In regards to a future collaboration, I think it would be so much fun to collaborate with a DJ or even a pop-punk band! Super out of my realm, but would be awesome to explore.

 

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them? 

 

A) I honestly mostly listen to pop-punk and alternative music, so some of my favorite bands right now are Neck Deep, State Champs, Blink-182 – you know the vibe.

 

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

 

A) Social media is such an awesome way to connect with fans because it gives us the opportunity to actually build a meaningful relationship.

 

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

 

A) Thank you to everyone who has supported me and who has continued to support and there is more music to come!
