Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) I would describe my sound as eclectic.  I am inspired by many different walks of life and experiences which allows me to create from a wide variety of sources.  I have a unique sound that I use to show my different personalities and emotions that I turn into art.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I have so many different influences, it’s hard to make a list but a few are Kanye West, Sade, Kendrick Lamar, Partynextdoor, Future, The Weeknd, Bob Marley and Brent Faiyaz.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Grown Woman.”

A) My new song “Grown Woman” is about relations I had in the past and how having the right woman to vent to can be very healing.  When I write about women it’s usually not about one in particular, I like to draw from different experiences and use those emotions to create a story.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think we can all relate to having someone to talk to that understands what you’re going through.  The right person at the right time can be very therapeutic.

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) My song writing process varies. I write a lot of ideas down in my notes and then go in the studio and use those ideas to freestyle and let whatever I’m feeling out on the mic.  It really depends on my mood and the environment. I can write anywhere, anytime, anyplace if I’m feeling inspired, too.

Q) How much of a hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I don’t know how to produce…yet, but I like to pick samples to use and give my producer a direction for how I want the song to sound.

Q) With “Grown Woman” out now, will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) I have not decided on any full albums or EPs yet, but it is very possible.  Right now, I’m focused on my continuing to drop singles.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I like to perform anywhere where there are people and a good sound system.  Location doesn’t matter as long as there are people in the building who like good music and loudspeakers.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) Beyonce, Tems

Q) What artist/musician are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I am currently listening to Dexter Kelly.  I love his versatility and the way he expresses himself.

Q) We loved seeing you on “All American.” Do you have more on-screen work coming up that you can talk about?

A) Yes, I have some new projects coming out.  You can catch me in the movie La UnderCover 2 coming out this fall and also on the show “Gladiator” coming out in August.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you so much for the support, I love who loves me! Keep God first and love yourself, everything else will fall into place.
