DJ Kraiz – Animal

Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) My sound is a mixture of Groovy House with big room influences. I like everything that can bring emotions (with appropriate chords and particular processed sounds) and energy. I’m a big fan of the groove in any form, rhythm and melody is everything to me.

 

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) Afrojack, David Guetta, Axwell, D.O.D, Antoine Delvig, Nicky Romero, Dannic, Mosimann, Will K, Corey James, Magnificence.  They are so many…

 

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Animal.” What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) I think is a good mixture of groovy house and future bounce vibes that are in perfect harmony with the catchy rap vocals by Charlotte Devaney, Lil Debbie and Knytro who I thank for give me the opportunity to work with them. You can find many styles on this track, but at the same time everything become so natural mixed together creating a unique vibe that comes straight from the jungle! [smiles]

 

Q) How did you come to work with Charlotte Devaney, Lil Debbie and Knytro on the track?

A) I have to thank my good friend Johnny (Flaremode) who put me in touch with them. They were looking for a different vision of their amazing track and I came out proposing my version, which it seems they liked it. [smiles]

 

Q) For your songs that have lyrics, what is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics? 

A) In music there are no rules on that. Every time is a different process that brings you the right inspiration to follow one way or the other. Usually, I compose the music first. It comes naturally to me drawing the melodies at the beginning and filling them with the right words, but honestly, I’m not that good on that. It’s easier to me to make melodies instead lyrics.

 

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music? 

A) 90% of the music is made by me. I only leave the mastering and sometimes part of the mix to a trustful studio that I know can improve the overall track. I don’t like to waste too much time in something that can easily kill the creative process.

 

Q) What can fans expect from a live DJ Kraiz performance?

A) Energy, live performances and a great taste in music selection. I care a lot about technical skills. Since I started DJing in 2001 I found my way to mix the power of the DJ set with the big feelings of the Live concerts. That’s why I use to play a wireless synthesizer and Midi controllers in my performances, which allow me to remix and mashup tracks live on stage, helping me to connect more with the audience, bringing new vibes and a real show to the dancefloor.

 

Q) Will there be a full EP or album coming in the near future?

A) I’m working on single tracks at the moment, but a good EP is something surely I want to make soon.

 

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you? 

A) Illuzion is one of my favorite club I ever played. I believed on it since it was only a scratch on a paper and Ultra Korea is the best festival I ever had the opportunity to play at. Since I started my career, dreaming to be a DJ, I was already listening all the mixes and the acts from all the editions of Ultra and to be there for the first time is something that I will remember forever.

 

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I have so many in my mind. I would love to make a track with Nicky Romero, Afrojack, Axwell or David Guetta for sure, but there are so many big artists and producers out there as well like D.o.d, Antoine Delvig, Corey James, Will K, Magnificence… Let’s see who will answer first! [laughs]

 

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them? 

A) I listen everything that can bring interesting vibes/sounds/groove in my ears. I believe there is always something to learn from any DJs/producers out there, so I always pay attention and get the best from them. I use to dig in many websites/stream platforms searching for something exciting and new that can help me to find new inspiration and fresh music.

 

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) I’m so grateful and happy about how the social media give you the opportunity to connect you with the fans or other people who share the same passion. I try to use those tools in the best way I can and I answer personally to every single message.

 

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I feel blessed and so grateful for every single person who listen to one of my tracks, came at one of my shows or hit that follow button. You keep alive my passion, my energy and my love for this job. Your love is my happiness and I will always be grateful for this!
