Interviews
Douglas Tait – The Quest
Q) What are the recent projects that you are working on?
A) I recently wrapped a lead acting role in the feature film Havenhurst produced by Mark Burg (“Two and a Half Men,” Saw and Texas Chainsaw 3D) and I am working on “Sleepy Hollow.”
Q) Please talk about the premise for “The Quest” and about your character Verlox.
A) “The Quest” is is a new reality/fantasy adventure that takes twelve lucky contestants on the journey of a lifetime when they enter the world of “Everealm.” Its a land of magic and malevolence, where mythical creatures lurk in the woods, agents of darkness stir in the shadows and mystical beings infiltrate the keep. For the twelve souls, a fantastic world will come alive in a unique competition series where players will engage in epic challenges. Fantasy meets reality when one player emerges as a real-life hero.
Q) What made you want to be a part of the show?
A) I was excited to work with these great producers and I was thrilled about playing Verlox and working with award winning Spectral Motion again.
Q) Was there anything you added to your role that wasn’t originally scripted for you?
A) I was fortunate to be given full freedom in developing my character from the script (written by Rob Eric). I chose the way Verlox spoke and moved based off the make-up design that Mike Elizalde and his team at Spectral Motion created. It’s such a great collaboration, building a character like Verlox, working with what’s in the script and putting my own ideas into it.
Q) Did the cast chemistry come naturally or did it take some time to bond?
A) Yes the chemistry was natural with everyone I worked with.
Q) What were some of your most memorable moments from filming “The Quest?”
A) Working in real castles in Vienna was amazing and felt surreal. And to be working with producers you look up to like Mark Ordesky, Jane Fleming and Bertram van Munster was just a reminder that dreams do come true. Being on this set reminded me of my early days starting as an actor, performing in live shows at Universal Studios and seeing my dreams far ahead.
Q) You are a part of social media, are you looking forward to the instant fan feedback and reaction you will receive when the episodes air?
A) I am looking forward to the reaction. It makes me nervous to wait and find out, but I’m excited for people to meet Verlox and my other characters on the show. I’m thinking positive because it’s such a cool show and the mixture of reality with fantasy will be very entertaining.
Q) Why will people want to take their time to tune in and see the show?
A) I think people will be drawn to the show because this type of show mixing fantasy and reality has never been done before on this production level. I think they will also be drawn to the cool characters in the fantasy world of Everealm and the amazing sets and locations. “The Quest” is truly raising the bar on reality television.
