Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) My sound is urban, for sure. I like to keep my albums with a very consistent hip-hop and then once in a while experiment when I collaborate with different artists. Step into their world and adjust my style to their sound and I’m not scared to try new things and push the boundaries of sound.

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

A) I grew up with hip-hop, reggae and R&B. Some of my earlier influences are DMX, Jay-Z and Biggie.

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Excuse My Accent.”

A) “Excuse My Accent” is my Monalisa. I really wanted to do something very creative and meaningful at the same. Me and RobYoung came up with the concept. Everything started because I had a very strong accent on my early records and people would always criticize it. So, we decided to make a record that will encourage people to be themselves and not be afraid to have a voice no matter where they are from and no matter how heavy their accent is.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans connect to?

A) The meaning behind the song and the catchy chorus really makes this song special. Also, myself, Rob and Sharlene bring a lot of energy and emotion to the song. All this combined with the visuals make it a special project.

Q) Richard Stan directed and edited the video. How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

A) The visuals really bring the song to life. When I first showed Richard the song, he insisted that he wanted to direct it and he came all the way from Romania just to make it happen. He did a lot of research and developed the whole concept. He did an amazing job and I hope we win some awards for this one. We already got accepted into some film festivals. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Q) Why was it so important for you to share your thoughts on human rights and immigration through your music?

A) I feel that is our responsibility as artists and creators to discuss about real issues that we are facing and inspire people to come together and influence the world to become a better place.

Q) What is your song writing process?

A) Sometimes it starts with a beat I like that inspires me to write. Sometimes it starts with a concept and I build the beat around that and then write to it.

Q) Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

A) Not all the time. Sometimes I write the lyrics and after that adjust it to the beat. But most of the time, it happens when I hear a beat I like.

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

A) I executive produce all my records. I really enjoy building my ideas from scratch and taking them to the finish line. I enjoy executive producing as much as being an artist.

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming in the near future?

A) I just released a new album about three month called Origin. It is executive produced by 808 Mafia. Now, I’m working on Origin 2, which should drop sometime next year.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) I like to perform in LA and back in Romania. Both places are like home for me and all my friends come out to my performances. That makes it special.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I want to make a record with Nas. He is one of my favorites. I hope it will happen soon. I also want to collaborate with Drake. I think we could make some hits!

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them?

A) I’m listening to:

Nas – King’s Disease

Big Sean – Detroit 2

Benny The Butcher – Burden of Proof

Joyner Lucas – Evolution

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) Social media is very important, but sometimes it gets tiring to be honest. I wish I could delete it. In times like this, it is the only way to connect with the audience so we have to use it, even if is not that exciting anymore.

Q) How would you recommend fans get involved with human rights unrest that is currently going on in our country?

A) I think it can start by informing yourself and really looking for the correct information, not relying only on the media to provide all the answers. Then, be open to helping others and be a voice in your inner circle. Bring people together and spread positive energy.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) I would like to thank all my fans and supporters for being with me on this journey.  I will continue to inspire and motive you to achieve your dreams by showing you that the only limit is the mind.
