Q) How would you best describe your sound?

A)  The Dwarves are the greatest rock n’ roll band of all time!

Q) Who are your Top 3 musical influences?

A) Number one would be Earth, followed by Wind and finally, Fire.

Q) In honor of Record Store Day (April 12th), you released a limited edition LP of Sunshine, Lollipops, & Rainbows. As this was a never before released live recording, what made you decide to release it this year?

A) Sunshine, Lollipops & Rainbows is actually an unreleased studio recording from 1989, recently unearthed and mixed. The band played it all live in the studio with no overdubs, so it’s raw like you might have heard at an early Dwarves show – but without the nudity, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases to worry about.

Q) Listening back on Sunshine, Lollipops, & Rainbows, which track was your favorite to revisit in the mixing process?

A) “Fuck You Up and Get High” is a master class in stupidity, according to the Washington Post.

Q) What is the song writing process like for the band? Do you often need music before you can craft lyrics?

A) All we really need is some synthetic motor oil, a worm infested two by four and the sheer moxie to persevere through four decades in the music industry.

Q) In addition to releasing the LP, you also shared some never before seen images from your photo shoot with photographer Michael Lavine (Nirvana, Cher, Beastie Boys) and live shots from Charles Peterson (Nirvana, Pearl Jam). What was it like getting to work with both photographers at the height of the grunge era?

A) Michael and Charles are two great artistes, one specializing in bright vibrant studio creations and the other gritty live action shots. Using both styles taken together we wound up with a picture disc, wrapped in a full color sleeve, encircled by a gatefold jacket that just screams- “The Dwarves Are Still The Best Band Ever!”

Q) What do you hope fans will take away from listening to the music on this LP?

A) Memories of a time long past, when long haired, foul mouthed young primates could walk the streets of the USA screaming obscenities in sweaty nightclubs as the world went to hell in a handbasket.

Q) With West Coast dates slated for this spring, are there any plans for a larger national tour in the future?

A) We’re playing all over the USA and Canada in 2025 and headed back to Europe and points beyond in 2026 when our newest LP Jenkem

Q) Which song is your favorite to perform at live shows?

A) “Let’s Fuck” is a certified classic, as is “Astroboy.” They’re both based on the same Misfits song so you get a kind of two for one

Q) Who would the band love to collaborate with on music in the future?

A) We want to collaborate with one of those interchangeable K-Pop bands so I can grow my hair out.

Q) In addition to releasing Sunshine, Lollipops, & Rainbows, are there any plans for new music in the works?

A) The Dwarves are always recording new stuff, which is why we’re the old punk band that still makes great records, while other old punk bands just kind of embarrass themselves at this point.

Q) What would you like to say to your fans and supporters of your music?

A) Thanks for loving us, the feeling is mutual. We’ll see you at the next show!
