Emily (Lily Collins) and Mindy (Ashley Park) attend a polo game to support Nico (Paul Forman). The pair catch up and gossip about the current state of their lives. When they go to meet Nico at the end of the game, Emily spots Marcelo (Eugenio Franceschini). It feels like a fateful reunion. They catch up and Marcelo amps up the charm and flirting. Emily is clearly smitten but bids him goodbye as she heads home. When she arrives in the building, she sees her landlord cleaning out Cami’s (Camille Razat) apartment. She asks Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) about it and he is still in a deep somber mood when it comes to Emily. He tells her she probably needed a fresh start and that it may be best for them, too.

When Emily arrives at the office for work, she subtly asks Gen (Thalia Besson) about her encounter with Gabriel. Quick to understand what she was asking, Gen claims it wasn’t like that and she respects Emily to not cross that line. She expresses that Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) wants her off of her couch and her struggle for finding an apartment. Although she knows of a vacancy, Emily tells her she doesn’t know of any open places.

Sylvie’s company is preparing to represent an Italian coffee brand. Emily is the lead on this project and they hold a meeting to discuss the launch party. Gen pulls a fast one and suggests Gabriel is invited to the party as he could be a selling point. After the meeting Emily tries to politely tell her to never do that again. Gen continues to feign innocence, but her devious ways are clear now. Emily returns to her desk to see Marcelo has sent her a cashmere scarf from a luxury brand. When Sylvie walks by, Emily learns it is actually Marcelo’s family who owns the business. When she realizes Emily is smitten, she files that back in her mind to potentially persuade them to be clients in the future.

Mindy is juggling trying to pursue her own dreams and career while supporting Nico’s. Her Eurovision entry song was the love song she wrote with Benoît (Kevin Dias). The audience wants to be sold on a love story, but they are no longer together. Despite this, a photographer encourages them to fake it for the cameras. Later, Benoît helps Mindy with her fear of singing topless with her new job. In the previous episode she discovers her vocals fall flat when she feels exposed. They record vocals for her to lip sync. However, the audio file is corrupted, and she quickly thinks of a plan B with Emily’s help. She humorously keeps herself covered throughout the performance and is met with applause. After the show Nico expresses his discomfort with her being so friendly towards Benoît. Emily walks out with Benoît and asks if he is okay. He says, “No. I had someone great and let her get away.”

This inspires Emily to call Marcelo and give him a chance. The two meet up and discuss how Emily has never been to Rome. He hypes the city up to her and tries to convince her to visit.

Eurovision photoshoot: Benoît and Mindy recap, “Give us a story. Stories aren’t only true,” poses them romantically. They lose time and walk around Paris all night. In the morning, she takes him to see the sunrise from a beautiful view. Before they part ways she invites him to the launch party, and he reveals he is returning home. In a clever reference Emily says, “We’ll always have Paris.”

At the launch party Emily tracks down Gabriel and they finally talk. It is clear he is still heavily processing all that has happened and says it might be best for them to have time apart. Emily has been insistent on things not being messy and remaining friends, but Gabriel is not ready for that. As they wrap up their conversation, Marcelo walks into the party and spots Emily. He makes his way up to the table and Emily awkwardly introduces the two. Marcelo recounts his meeting with Emily to Gabriel, not knowing who he is. He talks about how awful Emily’s boyfriend was to have left her alone on the mountain while skiing and how he helped. This further adds to the guilt Gabriel has already been feeling. Emily attempts to run after Gabriel after he walks off, but she is too late.

Marcelo finds Emily once more and tells her he has to go now as he has already delayed his flight plans as much as he could. He invites her to Rome to spend more time with her and leaves her with a sweet kiss.
