We pick up with the search for Fatima (Pegah Ghafoori). Ellis (Corteon Moore) approaches Boyd (Harold Perrineau) and Kenny (Ricky He) as they discuss the next steps to tell them about Elgin’s (Nathan D Simmons) behavior. We then see Fatima locked away looking more in pain as she is experiencing contractions. Boyd immediately springs into action knowing the ‘voices’ heard of the town once tried to convince Sara (Avery Konrad) to harm others.

Julie (Hannah Cheramy) and Ethan (Simon Webster) head to the diner so Tabitha (Catalina Sandino Moreno) and Jim (Eion Bailey) can have a moment to talk. She tells Jim of her experience of oddly feeling connected to Miranda in the church last episode. She feels as if Miranda is trying to tell her something. Wanting to be true to his oath to Tabitha on genuinely listening to her, he leaves to apologize to Jade (David Alpay). The two return to the house to discuss Tabitha’s latest experience. The trio decide to return to the place where the children were last seen. They discuss their thoughts and try to make sense as to why they keep seeing the ghost children. Jade, fed up with the symbols, yells into the sky. He is sick of the riddles and says if they really need their help, to just tell them.

Boyd has Sara go with him to speak to Elgin. He tells her about the voices and tells her how important it is that she tells Elgin of her own experiences. Boyd has Donna (Elizabeth Saunders) clear the house so that the two of them, Sara, Kenny, Ellis and Elgin are the only ones present for what is about to happen. As Elgin prepares supplies to go see Fatima, he is stopped by the group to “talk”. He looks worried piecing together they may know of his actions now. Boyd questions Elgin who refuses to tell them where Fatima is. He claims what is planned with the baby is a good thing and will save them all. He is adamant that the ghost he’s been seeing is only trying to help and thinks she is an angel. Sara tries to explain her own experience to him by saying she understands. She opens up about the voices she has heard and how the town never truly gives, it only takes. Ellis grows angered with Elgin’s calm energy surrounding Fatima’s whereabouts. Boyd and Kenny escort him out. Boyd asks Donna where her tools are, implying he may need to take violent measures.

Henry (Robert Joy) approaches Victor (Scott McCord) to check in on him as the pair have not spoken since Victor’s outburst. Henry is gentle with him as his sole intention is to rebuild his relationship with his son. Victor tells him he has something to show him, but it may make him angry. He takes him to where his mother is buried. Henry is overcome with emotion being near his missing wife. He notices another painted stone and asks if it is Eloise, Victor’s sister. To which Victor says, “I think so.” There are no accidents in Fromville when it comes to dropping hints, so this may mean we will see Eloise in future seasons. Victor is unsure the body he found was his sister. Victor is overcome with emotion in blaming himself and says he should have died this day too. For the first time, we see Henry become stern with Victor as he tells him to never say that again. He assures him nothing would change his love for his son.

Fatima grows worried as she is still alone in the hidden room and her pain continues. She picks up the jar of blood left for her to drink, and angrily throws it against the wall. The jar shatters and she picks up a broken piece and with shaky hands holds it to her belly.

Boyd returns to the house with his chosen tools and says no one is allowed to come upstairs. “What happens next, that’s on me.” Kenny tries to reason with Boyd before he goes into the room that they should try to just talk to Elgin once more first, but Boyd sends him away. Before entering the room, he allows himself to dissociate in order to do the unthinkable torture he may resort to. Entering the room, he lays out the tools in front of him as an intimidation method. When doing this, the camera goes off once more and Elgin tells him that’s how the ghost speaks to him. The photo is revealed to be the house Boyd had just purchased after his retirement and was trying to with his family when they got trapped. This only sets a fire off in Boyd that he plans to take out on Elgin. He begins to tie him up and tells him what the photo was before roughly grabbing his face. Elgin still tries to reason his belief in going home once the baby is born. Seeing the tools, Elgin begins to panic and promises he would never hurt Fatima. Boyd approaches him with a hammer in pure rage and gives him a final chance to reveal where Fatima is. Tearfully, Elgin refuses again, and Boyd gives him an additional final warning. He forcefully grabs his hand and places it on the table before smashing it with the hammer. Downstairs the others listen uncomfortably as Acosta (Samantha Brown) enters the house. Hearing Elgin’s screams, she runs upstairs and barges in. She refuses to leave without an explanation so they all head downstairs to regroup.

Jade, Tabitha and Jim sit and bounce more theories off of each other. Jim is the one to bring a ‘revelation’ to the conversation by saying the numbers could be related to music. Jade is overcome with excitement as they feel like this is the missing piece of information they need. Back in the bar, they figure out the melody rather quickly. Jim is skeptical about how quickly the song seemed to come to Jade. He is concerned it is a trick of the town and thinks they should proceed with caution.

Fatima works up the courage to seemingly give herself a c-section. As she begins to cut, the ghost woman appears and tells her to stop. She takes the broken glass from her as her water breaks. In the diner, Julie and Ethan talk about some of the feelings he has been processing on his own. Julie also tells him the truth about what happened at the ruins. She wonders if the time in the past she is able to travel to can be changed. Ethan tells her she cannot change the chapters of a story once it’s been told.

Back at colony house, Acosta attempts to reason with logic on how to deal with Elgin. Sara overhears this conversation and goes in to see Elgin herself. He still insists he won’t say anything, and she says she understands. Elgin tries to convince her to stop Boyd from hurting him. Knowing he won’t tell Fatima’s whereabouts until there is an extreme level of pain, she picks up a screwdriver. “He’s a good man and this place has taken so much from him, I won’t let it take his soul. I’ve already given it mine.” Downstairs the others hear Elgin screaming out in pain. They open the door to see Sara covered in blood, Elgin’s eye gouged out and she reveals where Fatima is.

By the bottle tree, Jade plays the newly remembered song on violin. Immediately he and Tabitha are overcome with a strange feeling. As the lullaby plays, Boyd and Ellis race to rescue Fatima. She is giving birth with the help of the ghost woman as the cellar door in the hidden room opens. The ghost woman takes the baby, inside of the placenta, into the cellar that leads to the creature’s cave. Moments later, Ellis rushes to Fatima’s side. They wonder where the baby is at, and she points to the opening. Boyd goes alone down and tells Kenny and Ellis to get Fatima to safety. She tells them she saw what the creatures did. They sacrificed their children being told they would be able to live forever. In the tunnels, the ghost woman places the placenta on the ground in the center of the creatures. It slowly grows into the size of a fully grown human. The sac opens to reveal the creature Boyd once killed, born again. With a terrifying grin, he spins around to look at everyone.

Back in the forest, Jade and Tabitha see the ghost children approach them. A little girl walks closely to Tabitha and repeats the same message to her she has been sending all season long – the word “remember” in another language. Jade and Tabitha are immediately overcome with emotion as they remember what they needed to. Jim is concerned and confused so runs after Tabitha. She explains to Jim that she is Miranda reincarnated. She has been to this town before, and Jade also had been there before as Christopher. She says they come back over and over again because they failed the first time. They tried to save the children and set them free because one of them was theirs. Jim keeps his composure seeing how upset she is but is having a hard time processing what she revealed. The two part ways. Jim walks alone to their flipped RV and Julie comes running screaming his name. Her hair is shorter and there is a scratch on her face which immediately reads as she is time traveling. She frantically tells him he needs to get to safety and go back to the town. “I think this is when it happens.” A man in a yellow suit approaches them and Jim goes into protective dad mode. The man talks about Jade’s song and says this never had to happen. The implication being the knowledge of Jade and Tabitha’s past lives is the reason for his visit. The man overpowers Jim and slits his throat. Julie cries out as the episode ends.
