Sam (Rose McIver) and Alberta (Danielle Pinnock) join Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) and some of the other ghosts in the kitchen to inform them that The Hudson Valley Players have rented the ball room to perform their play “Anything Goes” there. Pete (Richie Moriarty) recalls how Sam has mentioned that when she was younger, she wanted to play the lead role of Reno Sweeney but instead, she ended up as part of the tech crew. Before they know it, the ball room is crowded with local actors rehearsing for their big night including Mark (Tristan D. Lalla) their contractor. Sas (Román Zaragoza), Flower (Sheila Carrasco), Pete and Trevor (Asher Grodman) are there too gossiping about everyone around when the last one notices Marisa (Samantha Boscarino) one of the actresses while she is doing some stretching but the one who is truly struck by her is Sas who as soon as he lays eyes on her gets caught up in her beauty and wanting to know everything about her. Next, the director Scott Morgan (Connor Ratliff) who is also a sales agent, wastes no time in trying to sell a new vehicle to Jay while trying to introduce himself to him. He takes the opportunity to tell them about that one time when he got to work in the series “Law & Order” and although he didn’t make it to the final cut, he is proud to at least had been there. Right that moment, his assistant Jeff (Carson Gale) shows up carrying some bad news as he announces that the actress who was chosen to play the lead role won’t be able to work with them anymore so, the director decides to make an open casting to find a replacement something that gives Alberta the idea that maybe Sam should audition for it and make her juvenile dream come true but she refuses to do it and storms out of the room.

That night, while Jay was dreaming about receiving an award, Sas and Marisa show up in it and start flirting with each other kicking Jay out of his own dream. When the morning comes, Alberta and Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) try so hard to convince Sam to do the audition that she feels forced to confess that the real reason why she didn’t get the part before was because when she was auditioning for it, she got so nervous that ended up throwing up to everyone in the room and decided that it was not meant for her but now, Alberta promises that if she lets her, she will make use of all of her stage experience to help her achieve her dream to what Sam accepts. The next day, the singer wakes Sam up at the break of dawn to start her training that will include more than just singing as she is determined to physically prepare her by doing some laps in the garden.

Sas goes to Trevor, Flower and Pete for dating advice as he explains that he has been trying to meet with Marisa in Jay’s dream but so far, she hasn’t showed up yet so, the others suggest that maybe if he gets Jay to think about Marisa before going to bed that will help to have the woman’s image fresh so he could dream of her. Sam tries hard to keep up with Alberta’s training but without any luck. Disappointed and almost convinced that she won’t get the part, she talks to Jay about it when Sas shows up and tells her that he has been meeting in Jay’s dreams with Marisa but lately, she hasn’t showed up so he asks her to help him find his way back to her again through Jay and she agrees to do it. Slowly, Sam has gotten better and better at her training something that makes Alberta very proud until she realizes how talented Marisa is and asks Flower to help her mess up her audition and give Sam a chance. Sas has finally been able to meet with his beloved one again and when Pete and Trevor ask him about his experience, he tells them all about her favorite restaurants and tv shows she likes to watch something that makes the other two realize that based on what he says, he has been dating Jay and not Marisa. When Sam is about to go on stage, Flower accidentally blurts out that she is ready to mess the other actress performance so Sam could get the part something that makes Sam really disappointed at Alberta for lying to her when she said that she believed in her. Later that day, Alberta apologizes to her friend and confesses that by helping her, she was also trying to live an extension of what she once was but she trusts her and does not want her mistakes to get in the way of her dreams.

Sas feels completely devastated and pathetic for believing that he was finally dating someone in the afterlife but Pete tries to comfort him by saying that he will use his power to find someone who is not bound to a property and get him a girlfriend. Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky), Isaac and Alberta, are ready to see Sam’s audition but when her time to sing comes, she freaks out but Alberta gets on the stage with her and encourages to sing for a friend and she does it so well that finally gets the part. That night, Sam and Alberta perform together on stage delighting everyone in the crowd.

The next day, all of the ghosts and Jay praise Sam’s beautiful performance making the woman feel on cloud nine. Isaac finds her to be insufferable but Alberta cannot be prouder of her.
