Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) and some of the ghosts are trying to have some fun watching tv when Sam (Rose McIver) shows up followed by Patience (Mary Holland) who continues to be terrified by all the technology around the house that she considers to be as witchcraft which also leads her to believe that Sam might be a witch too and she must be punished for that. When Sam informs her husband about the ghost’s accusations, he suggests that is better not to celebrate Halloween this year given that Patience is still on the edge and reminding her about all the wrong ways that said celebration had turned out the prior years. Even the ghosts and Sam herself are disappointed at this, she decides to do as he says and instead, they agree to throw a yard sale something that makes Flower (Sheila Carrasco) sad as she believes that they will be selling the yard so she runs outside to say goodbye to every piece of grass she would find. As for Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky), she is quite mad given that all of the stuffs they plan to sale used to belong to her.

Since the ghosts are now bored and unable to celebrate Halloween, they decide to join Patience on the witch trial against Sam just to have some fun but little do they know, this is more than just a game for her. Jay continues to collect objects from around the house to add to the yard sale while is followed by Hetty trying to stop him but to no avail. The ghosts are now gathered in the living room where Patience announces them that Sam will soon have her trial where they all should vote on her favor or against her based on the accusations. Right then, Sam passes by wearing an old dress that belonged to Hetty that she uses as a custome. Patience informs her about her trial and although she tries to convince her that things have changed since she was alive, the ghost is firm on her decision to what Sam decides to plays along with her.

The backyard sale starts and people begin to arrive. Hetty is still very much upset for seeing her stuff being sold to a very cheap price but there’s nothing she can do about it. Sam parades around still in her costume and welcoming the customers. Sometime after, Patience gathers with all of the ghosts in the living room where she enlists all of the reasons why Sam should be punished for witchcraft; Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones), Trevor (Asher Grodman), Thor (Devan Chandler Long), Flower and Hetty vote against Sam while Alberta (Danielle Pinnock) and Pete (Richie Moriarty) vote on Sam’s favor. Unfortunately, Sam is found guilty and Patience declares that she should be turned to stone. The trial is now over and all the ghosts celebrate to have played part of this game until they realize that Sam is nowhere to be seen and suddenly, they see a statue that looks just like her standing outside in the yard. The ghosts run to find Patience and convince her to turn Sam back but she reminds them that they have convicted her with their votes and she should remain like that.

Trevor goes to the others and announce them that Jay is about to sell Sam and they try to stop him but as usual, he couldn’t hear them. Once the transaction is completed, the customer (Matty Cardarople) and Jay get the statue in his truck and he drives away while Pete runs after him just to make sure he knows where he is going. Right that moment, Trevor manages to use his power and text Jay to inform him that the statue was Sam but it is already too late for him to catch her. In the meantime, Isaac walks with Patience talking about what she did to Sam when he spots that the show “Laguna” is on tv so he tries to convince the other ghost to stay and watch it with him just to bear witness and she agrees. Jay calls the police to help him get the customer’s address so he can get his statue back but he is taken as a stalker instead. Pete comes back to the mansion and lets them know that as soon as the guy enter the highway, he lost him but all he could see was a captainkaboom.com bumper sticker so, once again, Trevor uses his power and finds the guy’s channel online where he blows up different object for fun so they conclude that Sam will have the same end. Jay receives a text from his iPad with a link to the video where he could see the man from earlier saying that within a few hours he will blow up the statue. Jay recognizes the house given that is located near to a Sonic he often goes to so, he decides to pay a visit to the man and get Sam back and asks Pete to go with him. Once he gets there, he makes a trade where he promises to give the man a monster head out of his collection if he gives him back the statue and he agrees.

Later, Jay and Pete return home with Sam and everyone celebrates their success on the mission. Isaac and Patience join the others and she is asked to make Sam human again but she refuses claiming that Sam had surrender to her sins and she was punished for that. In that moment, Isaac reminds her that she had also done the same by watching a “certain” tv show and tells her that if she doesn’t bring Sam back then, he will tell everyone about it so, she asks them to vote again and change the verdict on Sam’s favor and they do. Flower gets so excited that she tries to hug Jay and accidentally make him stumble and crash against the statue that falls to the floor breaking it in half. Everyone screams the Sam’s name and are surprised to see her walk in and looking well. It turned out that she had sold a table to a neighbor and helped her take it to her house where she spent quite a while trying to find her the right place to be. As for the statue, she claims to have found it in the ball room and in that moment, Hetty recalls that it actually belonged to her but given that they were very rich, they used to buy a lot of stuff and then forget about them.

At night, everyone gathers at the kitchen where Jay confesses Sam how scared he was when he thought that he had lost her and apologizes for having suggested not to celebrate Halloween. Patience walks in and informs them that she is not made for the aboveground world and has made the decision to return to the dirt. Everyone pretend to be sad by her decision but they accept it nonetheless. It appears they have got ridden of a big problem something that makes them happy but the mood soon changes when Patience suggests that there might be “others” living in the dirt.
