Ghosts – His Girl Shiki
By: Gladys Luna
Sas (Román Zaragoza), Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones), and Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky) are watching while Sam (Rose McIver) is giving the final touches to the vampire book inspired by Isaac’s life until Pete (Richie Moriarty) shows up announcing that – as he had promised – he found a romantic interest for Sas something that makes the ghost very happy and excited. It turns out that the other ghost named Joan, who is also a roamer, has traveled all the way there to meet him. Sas goes to the living room and meets with her; Joan (Taylor Ortega) appears to have a personality ahead of her own time and presents herself as a determined woman. The chemistry between the two of them is evident and both seem to be happy to have found each other. The woman is enchanted by him and Sas is left out of words by her presence there. Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) meets with Sam in the kitchen and complains that their neighbors have made a reservation at the restaurant the prior night but never showed up and that got him a little concerned so, he decides to dig into their social media and gets mad when seeing that they went somewhere else instead and he assumes that they did it as a way to get revenge for them not attending their new year’s party. Flower (Sheila Carrasco), Thor (Devan Chandler Long) and Hetty are there too and the Viking is quick to say that he remembers when Alberta (Danielle Pinnock) didn’t attend to his thousand’s birthday party fifty years ago and now he is determined to plot his revenge too.
Sas and Joan are at the tv room still getting to know each other and the woman wants him to tell her everything about his story. She is surprised that he hasn’t found anyone to date with and he tells her that maybe it is because he hasn’t met the right girl yet. Trevor (Asher Grodman) comes in and asks them to leave the room since it is his tv time but gets immediately burned by Joan who not only mocks of him for not wearing pants but also makes fun of his legs saying that they are very thin something that makes him truly offended. Joan also confesses that since she had learned to master her power, she can roam for a full year without even needing to go home to recharge so she can stay there with him for as long as she wants. Thor goes to pay a visit to Alberta who is trying to get some rest but then, is completely brought back from her current state when Thor suggests that she should throw a party since the house seems to be very boring recently and just like that, he starts his so-called revenge against her as he plans to leave her hanging just like she did to him. Afterwards, he goes to see Trevor and tells his evil plan against the singer and asks him to send him a full report about how she reacts when she realizes that he won’t attend her party.
Sam and the ghosts talk to Sas wanting to know how he feels about Joan. Although he is excited to have met her, he still believes that he’s somehow attached to Shiki (Crystle Lightning), the woman he was in love with when he was alive. Hetty believes that based on his history, it seems that he always seems to have a thing for the people romantically unavailable and in order to make sure that he can move on for once and for all, Pete offers to go pay a visit to Shiki and make sure that she is not interested. Pete meets with her and at first, she blatantly confesses that she was never interested in Sas much less when he never made a move to prove he was in love with her, but when Pete blurts out that he actually did when he killed a deer and brought her to her house things take a different turn as she begins to see Sas under a different light. Pete updates Sam and the other ghosts about Shiki’s change of mind and they agreed – by Hetty’s suggestion – to hide the truth from Sas just so he can move on and try something with Joan.
Alberta’s party is in full swing and everybody seem to be having a good time there; Joan takes out her flask and shares some of her liquor with Alberta who seems to enjoy it. Sas tells Sam and the ghosts that since his old crush is not interested in him, he has decided to move on with Joan and see where it goes. Right that moment, Jay enters the living room and thinking that Sas is not around he blurts out the truth about Shiki’s true feelings for Sas something that makes him mad and bolt out of the room in disappointment when finding out that he had been fooled by them. Thor shows up at Alberta’s party looking for Trevor to update him on the singer’s reaction to his absence but then she sees him and goes to greet him making him leave in a haste. Joan goes to see Sas and confesses that even though she felt that something was brewing between the two of them, she encourages him to think outside the box and go get the girl. Thor goes to see Alberta and asks her how she felt when she didn’t see him there at her party but she seems to be confused since she knows that he was there even when he intended not to. Finally, Thor ends up confessing that he just wanted to get revenge on her for not attending his birthday party fifty years ago and she tells that back then, she was a young ghost and being at his party would only remind her that she’ll be stuck there for ages but then Thor says that times does not seem to be that long when they spend it among friends. Alberta invites him to go on a friend date with her and meet her later by the fountain so they can start from scratch and he agrees.
Sam, Jay and the ghosts go see Sas and he tells them that he had been talking with Joan and has decided to use the ghost trap to go see Shiki something that surprises them but end up supporting him nonetheless. At night, Thor is waiting for Alberta at the spot they had agreed on; Jay goes out hoping that the Viking is there carrying a message from Alberta in which she says that no one revenges on her something that makes Thor say that the war is not over.
