Ghosts – Isaac’s Wedding
By: Gladys Luna
The wedding day is finally here and although Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) had been impatiently waiting for this moment, it seems that recently something has changed. The captain is happily sleeping when suddenly he is woken up after having a very interesting and revealing dream in which while Sas (Román Zaragoza) is officiating the ceremony, Chris (Deniz Akdeniz) – the stripper who gave a lap dance to Isaac – shows up and interrupts the wedding. Luckily, Nigel (John Hartman) is there to comfort him while Isaac lies to his face saying that he dreamt of being robbed. The morning has arrived and Alberta (Danielle Pinnock) brags about being the one in charge of performing a song at the wedding. On the other hand, Sas takes the opportunity to ask Thor (Devan Chandler Long), Nancy (Betsy Sodaro) and Flower (Sheila Carrasco) about how their current relationship arrangement is going and Thor shares it is wonderful but it is clear that the three of them are very different. Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) walks in the room carrying a flower arrangement since he is in charge of decorating the place following Hetty’s (Rebecca Wisocky) orders and complaining about wasting a lot of money on something he considers to be pointless.
On the other side of the house is Isaac, who is found by Sas looking pensive and nostalgic and feeling like wanting to talk to someone about what’s going through his mind. His friend offers himself to be that person and, although at first Isaac do not see him as the right person to talk to, he ends up telling him about the dreams he’s been having recently about Chris. Sas explains that what he has been experiencing is just the typical “cold feet” and reassures him about how good the connection is and relationship he has with Nigel and manages to convince him to forget Chris.
Meanwhile, Pete (Richie Moriarty) is having the time of his life vacationing with his family at the beach. He is now at the bar talking practically to himself about how much fun he is having when the ghost of woman named Donna (Allegra Edwards) shows up and starts flirting with him. She explains that back in the 80’s a man dropped his phone from the 4th floor and it landed on her head killing her instantly. It seems that Pete won’t ever forget about this trip. Back at the mansion Flower, Thor and Nancy are still discussing about where to sit at Isaac’s wedding; Flower takes the chance to tell them about a woman named Patience who she met while she was trapped at the well and who she remembers for her thirst for revenge. Nigel walks by so they stop him and ask him to help them decide their wedding seats, but the man confesses that unfortunately the basement ghosts are not invited. Right at that moment, Carol (Caroline Aaron) passes by with Baxter (Steven Yaffee) announcing that they are very much in love and plan to attend the wedding as a couple. Isaac and Sas enter the foyer and Isaac thanks his friend for helping him forget about the stripper. He says he believes he can finally move on. Jay enters the place with Chris in tow announcing to Sam (Rose McIver) that he hired him to perform as a DJ at the wedding, making Isaac almost lose his breath. The man is spiraling at the stripper’s presence and Trevor (Asher Grodman) tries to calm him down saying that him being there is just a silly coincidence. In an attempt to discourage Isaac’s desires for Chris, Hetty requests Sam to ask the man about him showing up an hour late since she believes that speaks very badly of him. The man confirms that his boyfriend had an issue with his car, so he stayed to help him. It appears that the more he talks the more Isaac feels attracted to him, something that is not helpful when they are only a few hours away from the wedding. He decides to go outside and catch some air.
Back at the beach, Pete and his new friend Donna are trying to spend some romantic time together and when they are about to kiss, he notices that his right hand has disappeared – causing him to scream. At the mansion, Jay asks the stripper to perform as though the place were packed and is surprised that he doesn’t even question his odds requests, Chris reminds him that the last time he was there, he had to dance to an empty chair, so he does not mind about this situation at all. He starts to play his music and the sound reaches the basement ghosts’ ears who are feeling disappointed that they weren’t invited to the ceremony. Thor and Flower are also there trying to support Nancy, but it doesn’t take long for them to give up on her and go to the wedding without her. Suddenly, a mystery Puritan woman shows up through the wall surprising everyone there.
Nigel realizes what has been happening with his fiancé and decides to confront him, but Isaac assures him that although he has been doubtful about their relationship, he is now convinced that what they have is solid and everlasting. It’s finally wedding time and now we can see the happy couple standing at the altar as Sas officiates. The ghosts are there and then Pete enters in haste screaming in terror since he is almost disappearing. As soon as he gets there, he becomes whole again and then he realizes what he has interrupted the wedding. He apologizes and asks for the ceremony to continue, but now everyone wants to know what happened to him. Pete explains that while he was enjoying himself at the beach he started to disappear and realized how much he missed his friends, so he decided to return. However, now he misses Donna, his Caribbean lover that made him feel something he hadn’t felt in a long time. These words resonate in Isaac’s head making him realize that his relationship with Nigel is not what it used to be and that something has been missing. Sadly, he calls off the wedding. Isaac leaves and Alberta takes the chance to sing “At Last” to the guests. Later that night Isaac informs everyone that he has spoken with Nigel and, although he had offended him at first, he finally forgave him and understood the whole situation. Unfortunately, this makes Isaac feel even worse about it. Thor talks to Flower and confesses that he is only interested in having a relationship with her and that he loves her. Sweetly, the woman also confesses her love for him. Carol and Baxter take the opportunity to announce that they are in love and since Nigel and Isaac didn’t get married, they will take their place instead.
Now that everything appears have fallen into place, Nancy calls Isaac to the basement saying that even though they were not invited to his failed wedding, they have a gift for him. Then, they call the “mystery woman” that showed up earlier and she drags Isaac through the wall. None of the ghosts saw it coming so they agree not to tell anyone about what they witnessed.
