Ghosts – Patience

We are taken back to the year 1692 where we get introduced to the ghost Patience’s (Mary Holland) story. This is the woman that Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones), Sas (Román Zaragoza) and Thor (Devan Chandler Long) met back when they were trapped in a well with her and whom Isaac accidentally left behind when they tried to escape. Patience used to be part of a Puritans’ group, but back in the day she was expelled from the community given that her behavior was excessive even for the cult. The woman agreed to leave, but with the promise that she will create her own community and continue her efforts there.

Back to the present, it’s been a day since the failed wedding between Nigel (John Hartman) and Isaac. Now, Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky), Flower (Sheila Carrasco) and Alberta (Danielle Pinnock) are still gossiping about the prior day events while Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) and Sam (Rose McIver) are concerned about why the water bill has reached the roof. Right then Mark (Tristan D. Lalla), their contractor, walks in followed by Pete (Richie Moriarty) who had managed to go with the constructor to the hardware store. Mark brings with him the budget proposal for the restaurant tiles that Jay immediately approves of, but Sam suggests that is better to discuss in private with Isaac since he is the other investor. This leads them to the fact that he hasn’t been seen around the property since he ditched Nigel at the altar. Once the contractor is gone, Sam questions the other ghosts about Isaac but no one can really tell where he is and they decide to go and ask Nigel about it. However, the man is still pretty much shocked about what his ex-fiancée did to him so he is not much of a help for them. Meanwhile, Patience is busy explaining to Isaac that she will avenge the fact that he abandoned her and put him to centuries of suffering just like she had been. Even he tries to apologize to her she does not forgive him.

In the TV room, Trevor (Asher Grodman) is struggling hard to turn the tv on while Thor, Sas and Nancy (Betsy Sodaro) impatiently wait for him to do it. The rest of the group shows up and asks them about Isaac, but they claim not to have seen him except for Nancy who remains stoic and looking at a blank space. By the look of her, Pete questions her directly about it and she lies saying that she had seen him earlier taking a stroll around the property. This seems so out of character so Trevor questions her weird behavior, making her yell at him and leave the room in a haste. This raises some suspicions about what she might be hiding.

Isaac is still trying hard to convince Patience that he, Sas and Thor were so concerned at leaving her behind that she ends up believing him. He also tells her that he is feeling lonely without his friends there as an attempt for her to show him some mercy and let him go back to them, but instead he awakens another idea in her. Sam, Jay and the ghosts pay a visit to the basement ghosts, especially to Nancy to confront her on what she truly knows about Isaac whereabouts. When they see she refuses to talk Sas tricks one of the other ghosts (Arthur Holden) into telling the truth and he succeeds making Nancy to confess that Patience had gone through the wall and kidnapped Isaac. She explains that the reason they didn’t say a thing was because they were mad that they weren’t invited to the wedding. Then, she tries to show them how the kidnaping happened and asks Sas to pretend to be Isaac and put his back against the wall without knowing that Patience will show up again out of nowhere and take him with her much to everyone’s surprise.

Patience reunites Isaac and Sas as well as she expresses how happy she is to have them with her and how she plans to start a new community along with them. In the meantime, Sam, Jay and the other ghosts try to find a way to get them back. They talk to Flower who met Patience while she was trapped in the well and she claims to have spoken with her. She believes she knows where she lived, but Flower does not appear to have a much clear idea about it. While she thinks the group discusses about the reason why Patience has kidnapped Sas and Isaac. They come to the conclusion that she might want to get the group together so they assume that soon she will come for Thor as well. Right that moment, Flower recalls that Patience had mentioned to live under a willow of the property so the whole group go in search of it and start digging in order to get to her.

Isaac and Sas are left alone for a moment and Isaac talks about how he feels that being trapped there might be a result of the life he has led and his selfish actions so he promises Sas that if he they are rescued, he will change his ways. They are worried about what Patience might have in store for them. Then, they start mocking of her but little do they know that she has been listening to them all along. At the mansion Jay is still digging at the place Flower mentioned, but there are no signs of either of the ghosts and soon they realize that she might have mistaken about Patience’s lair. It appears that she has no idea about where the ghost lives. Back to Patience, contrary to what Isaac and Sas might be thinking she decides to give them another chance and get them back to the basement where Nancy and another ghost (Stuart Fink) are playing rock, paper scissors and get scared when they see Patience showing up with the other two ghosts saying goodbye to them and confessing that she will return to her only friend – the dirt.

Everyone is gathered at the living room still trying to figure out a way to save Isaac and Sas when the two show up saying what Patience did for them. Sas feels bad for her and how lonely she is, so that gives Sam the idea that maybe they should get back for her and ask her to join them to live in the house. Unfortunately, they still don’t know where she lives. Jay enters the room and says that Mark has found the reason why their water bill has been through the roof and confesses that the fountain of the property has been leaking all along. This makes Sas to remember that Patience has mentioned her lair used to have water dripping all the time so they assume that she has been living under the fountain. Everyone goes back to the basement and the ghosts take each other by the hand forming a line so they cannot get lost when they cross through the wall. Isaac and Sas find Patience, apologize for leaving her and ask her to go with them to what she happily agrees.

Later that night Sam, Jay and Isaac meet with Mark in the kitchen where they inform him that they have to look for other options for the restaurant tile. It appears that the ghost captain does not agree with the constructor’s choice. Meanwhile, Alberta has to share a room with Patience but it does not seem that they are going to get along very well.
