Sam (Rose McIver) lures Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) out of their property and into their car with the promise to take him to the zoo but the truth is, she just wants to have a private conversation with him away from the ghosts in which she informs him that her publisher has invited them to a launch party for Isaac’s Vampire book in New York and since the captain cannot leave the property, she believes that it is best if they don’t tell him or any of the ghosts about it and Jay agrees to it. Later, Bela (Punam Patel) is taking some pictures of her brother while Sam, Trevor (Asher Grodman), Alberta (Danielle Pinnock), Isaac (Brandon Scott Jones) and Flower (Sheila Carrasco) watch them. It turns out that he had been asked to do an article about his restaurant and needs some pictures for it. Right that moment, Pete (Richie Moriarty) enters the place announcing that he had spent some time with Kyle (Ben Feldman) in Chicago who had informed him about the book’s launch party so he congratulates her for it. Sam tries to deny everything but Pete insists so she tells Jay what is going on and they learn that Bela was the one who told Kyle all about it. They are surprised that Bela is still in contact with him to what she says that even when she has a boyfriend, she would like to leave the door open with Kyle just in case her boyfriend dies. Sam apologizes to Isaac for had lied to him and explain her reasons although that does not prevent him to be disappointed. Sometime later, Pete, Alberta and Hetty (Rebecca Wisocky) are on the tv room discussing about the show they are watching; the travel agent excuses from the conversation and leave the room and Hetty sees how Alberta ogles him and cannot help but to comment on it making the singer to confess that she hadn’t been able to stop thinking about Pete since their “almost kiss” and asks Hetty to keep the secret for her although the other woman admits that she is a big mouth herself but will try to do her best.

Sam takes Isaac to the restaurant and lets him know that she had convinced her editor to bring the launch party to them saying that she suffers from agoraphobia and cannot travel so, in that way, he can attend the event making him feel grateful for the gesture. He only hopes that the party doesn’t get compromised by the sudden change of venue and Sam assures him that there won’t be any trouble. Little does she know that in the meantime, an unexpected guest appears in the basement as we see Patience (Mary Holland) coming through the wall claiming that she can smell the evil presence there much to everyone else’s surprise. Back at the restaurant, Sam and Jay offer the editor (Joy Osmanski) to decorate the place according to the book’s theme but she refuses since she confirms that they are expecting the literary elite to show up later and thinks it would be inappropriate to do so. On the other side of the room, Pete, Sas (Román Zaragoza), Flower and Trevor discuss about the book poster and then, Patience shows up saying that she can sense the evil is close and she is there to stop it and asks for an explanation about the event. Flower tells her that they are having a party for the launch of Isaac’s vampire book and now the puritan is convinced that celebrating the undead creatures is a demonic act and it won’t happen under her watch so she is determined to make the walls bleed to stop it. Sam notices her presence there and pretends to take her side then convinces her to go to the Mansion saying that she has been feeling some evil surrounding the place.  Meanwhile, Hetty and Alberta are still discussing about her feelings for Pete when Patience walks in followed by Trevor and Sas; the two of them try to let the other two women know that they should distract the puritan and prevent her from going back to the party but nothing seems to work until Hetty yells that Alberta has been experiencing some sinful thoughts about Pete who now has a girlfriend so Patience offers to help her get rid of it and the singer accepts as a way to keep her there.

The party is now in full swing; Isaac complains about Patience’s presence there to Flower and Thor (Devan Chandler Long) and the possibility of ruining the chance to turn his book into a film and then into a play. On the other side of the restaurant, Bela is having an animated conversation with Elias (Matt Walsh) who is there for business purposes. Back to the Mansion, Patience has gathered some audience for Alberta to confess her sins to and besides, Trevor, Thor, Flower, Sas and Hetty, she has also invited Nancy (Betsy Sodaro) along with all of the other basement ghosts. Patience asks Alberta to confess her sins out loud to them and she delivers a lovely speech about how she believes that her feelings for Pete started a while ago but she had denied them and decided to kept him at bay but ultimately, she has realized how he might be the right kind of guy for her. Much to her surprise, Pete has been there among the crowd listening all along and now he is looking at her with watery eyes but before she can say anything, he bolts the room. Patience does not notice any of this and instead, encourages everyone to scream at Alberta how ashamed they are of her. Everything seems to be working perfectly until Bela shows up talking on the phone with Kyle and confessing him how they had managed to trick Patience, completely unaware that the ghosts are there. When Patience hears her, she gets so mad that she heads straight back to the party to stop it. When she gets there, Sam is in the middle of a reading and gets scared of seeing the ghost there since she knows what it means but tries hard to pretend otherwise. Patience starts to make the walls bleed and luckily for Sam, the guests think is just something they had planned to add some realness to her presentation and they end up giving her a standing ovation. Nancy tries to comfort Alberta but to no avail since Pete seems to be missing in action. At the party, everyone is celebrating their success when a woman named Jillian (Alison Wandzura) – who introduces herself as a food magazine editor – shows her interest in collaborating with Jay. Things appear to be back on track until Elias shows up and Jay greets him in joy taking Sam by surprise when he introduces him as his publicist. Sam lets him know who he truly is and Hetty explains that he had been promoted in hell and now he can wander among the living with the sole purpose of collecting souls. Right then, Elias confesses that Jay had signed a contract with him to make his dreams come true so, when he dies, his soul will belong to him and unfortunately for the chef, he does not have much time left.

A few days have passed and Pete has finally come back to the Mansion. He goes to talk to Alberta who has been on edge since he left without a word. The travel agent explains that her feelings are reciprocated and that he went to see Donna (Allegra Edwards) to tell her that he can’t see her anymore then, he reaches for a kiss and this time there is nothing to stop them.
