Good Earth Tea Co. – Sweet & Spicy
By: Gavin Seetaram
Good Earth Tea Co. is known for their signature lines of tea. Their “Good Earth’s Sweet & Spicy” selection promised to be both Sweet & Spicy. I am a fan of flavor and spice so I decided to try the Herbal & Black Tea flavor as it touted to be “sweet, spicy and smooth.” I started the day by steeping a bag for about four minutes and then took my first sip.
I tasted the orange and the sweetness, but I did not taste any spice. The orange peel and orange oil may have overridden the anise seed and cinnamon highlighted in the tea’s description on the box. It was not as bold as noted so I don’t think I would agree with their “wild and daring” description. My suggestion would be to tone the flavor in order to make it a more balanced taste.
Additionally, I would not recommend to Sweet & Spicy tea tasters to add sugar or sweetner to their cup. I attempted to add sugar and found it to be way too sweet. So, if you find yourself regularly sweeting your beverage, just try it first without to be sure you don’t ruin your drink.
The box also notes this tea to be a two out of three level of caffeine. I did not find myself on edge or my senses overly awakened after having myself a cup of tea.
A box of Good Earth’s Sweet & Spicy tea comes with eighteen bags of tea at a price of $3.35, which I find to be a fair value. I also enjoyed that each tea bag was individually wrapped.
Good Earth’s Sweet & Spicy’s promotes itself as “anything but boring” and I absolutely agree! Be sure to grab a cup and start sipping.
