Multi-talented pop rock n’ roll band Hello Sister is a dynamic trio from Orlando, Florida. Q) How would you describe your sound?

 

Gabriella Mason:  Our music is a mix of Pop and rock!

 

Q) Who are some of your musical influences?

 

Gabriella Mason:  I think our Dad has had a big musical influence on us because he was in a band himself when he was younger, and he was always singing and playing instruments around the house when we were little. Both our parents are always playing different types of genre of music, and now I think we are also influenced by the variety of music we hear from pop, R&B, rock, country, dance and rap.

 

Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “Wave of Love.”

 

Gabriella Mason: “Wave of LOVE” is a fun upbeat song about faith and love and always trying to be positive!

Q) The song was written twenty years ago by your father Tim Mason. What makes the track so timeless?

 

Gabriella Mason: We think our song “Wave of LOVE” is a timeless song because love is love and it doesn’t matter what decade you are in!

 

Q) How did you come to work with Guitar Magazine to premiere the single?

 

Gabriella Mason: Our publicist found the opportunity and we thought it would be really cool to do a collaboration with them. It was such great experience, and we hope we can do it again!

 

Q) How does the video for the track play into the message behind it?

 

Grace Mason:  When we shot our music video for “Wave of LOVE” we wanted to spread the overall message of bringing people together and having a good time. In our video we showed some of the favorite things that we love to do, to encourage people to do what they love. In the video we write songs, dance, read, play on a hoverboard and just have fun together as sisters!

 

Q) What is your song writing process? Do you need music before you can create lyrics?

 

Grace Mason:  Our song writing process is pretty interesting! It usually is a combination of all of our ideas and other times just me or Scarlett will just come up with a song ourselves or Gabriella would play a guitar riff during practice and we end up using it in our songs!  Inspiration for songs usually occur at the most random moments when you’re in the shower, walking to school, but once someone has an idea we all pitch in to make it great!!

 

Q) How much of hand do you have in the production of your music?

 

Grace Mason:  As we write our songs our dad and our music teacher/producer Alex play a big part in where we are today! Not only do they help us write songs and come up with great melodies, but they are always right by our side! Our mom also plays a big role in the releasing, publishing and marketing of our music and we couldn’t do it without her!

 

Q) Will there be a full album or EP coming soon?

 

Grace Mason:  YES! Our next plan is to release a mini album of all of our original songs!  We can’t wait for everyone to hear it!

 

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

 

Grace Mason:  Our favorite places to perform are the local venues and festivals because we can invite all our friends to come watch and we love performing for them!!

Last year we had an awesome time performing at NAMM, which is an incredible music convention, and we got to play on the Gibson stage!  It was so much fun to perform in LA and accomplish one of our goals, to play in front of a bigger audience!

 

Q) With concerts currently on hold, what do you miss most about being on stage?

 

Grace Mason:  Being on a stage is a feeling like no other. Not being able to perform and see the expressions on people’s faces as we play our set is something we have missed! It brings so much excitement for all of us and we can’t wait to do it again very soon!  We definitely miss playing on stage because it’s an amazing experience to be able to interact with our fans and rock out to our music with them!

 

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

 

Scarlett Mason:  We would love to be able to collaborate with The Jonas Brothers!  We are a huge fan of theirs and it would be so cool for a band of three sisters to collaborate with a band of three brothers!

 

Q) What album/band are you currently listening to and why do you dig them? 

 

Scarlett Mason:  We are currently listening to the Jonas Brothers, Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift, Paramore and so many more!

 

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

 

Scarlett Mason:  It is so important that we connect with our fans because at the end of the day we wouldn’t be anywhere without them!  We are so thankful to have such amazing and kind fans and appreciate all of their love and support!

 

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

 

Scarlett Mason:  Do what you love, never give up on your dreams and continue being awesome!
