Q) Talk about the story behind your new song “SKIN & BONES.”

A) It’s a very bare-boned piano ballad about feeling depleted. There was a point in time this past September when I was feeling very dark and it sparked inspiration for this song.

Q) What do you think it is about the song that fans will connect to?

A) Hopefully the rawness of it. It’s very simple, right to the point and open. I hope that others will connect with that aspect of it.

Q) Do you have an idea or concept yet for the video?

A) There will not be a video for this track!

Q) How much of hand did you have in the production aspect of this track?

A) A good amount, but the producer (Okan Kazdal) always has solid production ideas that mesh well with mine, so it was fully collaborative. He is who I did my first real co-write with years ago, so I have a lot of trust in his production ideas. I described to him what I was hearing in my head production-wise, instrumentation-wise, and he pieced my words together to create the instrumental.

Q) Will there be a full EP or album out in the near future?

A) Not from me, no! I do not plan on releasing any other solo music for the time being; my focus is VISTA.

Q) Where are some of your favorite places to perform and what makes those locations so significant to you?

A) VISTA has played some super cool venues. One of our favorites was Irving Plaza in New York. At the time we played there, January 2017, it was our largest show to date. So, we always look back at that show with full hearts. We’ve also really loved Chameleon Club in Lancaster, PA; we’ll be back there February 2rd for another show, simply because we loved it there so much the first time that we were there supporting Set It Off.

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) LIGHTS! She’s someone I’ve wanted to work with for at least ten years now.

Q) You are also coming out with your autobiography! What sparked your interest in sharing your life?

A) I originally had no plans to release an autobiography. I just started writing about my life in August 2017 after VISTA finished up a tour, looking for a means of free therapy to just write. I started, I couldn’t stop once I did, and it evolved into a full-length novel that had a rather extensive story. Once I jumped in, I just had to finish what I started.

Q) Were there parts of your life that you deemed off limits to the book?

A) No! I’ve never been shy with words. There was one particular small section I kept concise and to the point, but otherwise nothing was held back.

Q) What is something your fans will be surprised to see explored in your autobiography?

A) A lot, honestly. There are many things in the pages that I’ve never discussed or shared. I’m rather scared for others to read some of those parts, but each page is essential to who I am now at 25 and I want others to be able to connect the dots and see how I’ve gotten to where I’m at in my young adulthood.

Q) You are a part of social media. Why is that such an important way for you to connect with your fans?

A) It’s so crucial. I like being able to connect with others no matter your location. I like being able to make posts that others can read in all different time zones. I like being able to share our art with the touch of a finger. It’s also cool to read through our fans’ tweets and see what they have going on in their lives. It’s just such a special set of tools.

Q) What would you like to say to everyone who is a fan and supporter of you and your work?

A) Thank you for always listening to what we have to say and keeping your hearts open to VISTA and I. Thank you.
