Q) How would you describe your sound?

A) My sound has changed with my new releases since I am maturing as a recording artist. I get a lot of comments saying my voice is very pure and calming and I love that! I am definitely pop but with a mix of some indi spirit.

Q) Your newest single “Exposed” is out now and I have been listening to it on repeat. Talk about the story behind it.

A) First, thank you for listening! “Exposed” is my second release of my new trilogy about the rise and fall of young love and relationships. “Exposed” explores the difficulty of opening your heart back up to someone after going through a heartbreak in your past.

Q) The song is about finding the strength to open your heart to a new relationship after heartbreak. What was the writing process like? Did you have the lyrics or the music first?

A) It was kind of a combination of both. We had a track we liked and then we started writing the song. It all kind of came together and then went through a mix at the end. I’m really happy with it!

Q) The single is followed by a music video directed by Marielle Boland. How involved were you in developing the concept for it?

A) I always have a meeting with my management about ideas for the music video and then we get pitched treatments. The treatments are the interpretation of those ideas by the director. Marielle did the video for “Afterglow” as well and we were really happy with the result. Once the treatment is done, we can make tweaks if needed but Marielle’s vision is spot on. During filming I definitely have input on different shots and angles.

Q) My favorite part of the song is “Maybe I should listen, listen to this small thing, beating loud inside my chest.” What do you hope people take away from it?

A) These lyrics are about listening to your heart and your intuition, really just listening to yourself and what is comfortable for you. Don’t worry about pleasing everyone else and feeling like you have to live your life by someone else’s wishes or timelines.

Q) Have you gotten any specific feedback about the song that has stood out?

A) I do get a lot of feedback from my stars, and I love how open they are to me about how they connect with my songs and lyrics. I love how people can look to me for strength and how I get that same strength back from them!

Q) Part of your releases is also your single “Afterglow.” Which would you say it was the most challenging to write?

A) I would say “Afterglow” was more challenging because it was one of the first songs written with my new management team. I hadn’t released a song in a while, and it was so important for me to come back with a sound that really showed where I was as an artist and showed a progression and a maturity from where I was on my last release.

Q) You are a series regular in the new Brat TV’s series “Charmers” playing mean girl “Paris.” What is something you’ve taken away from being on the show?

A) I absolutely love playing “Paris” on “Charmers.” I am hoping we get to do another season as I feel there is so much more to explore between “Paris” and “Zaria” and their relationship and why it went bad. I will definitely take away a sense of pride in crafting a character who has traits that are quite different than my own. I loved getting to know and getting to create “Paris” in the show!

Q) Do you have a favorite memory while filming on set?

A) I have so many memories from filming on set. There were so many funny and fun moments I shared with the other actors. I was lucky to be friends with quite a few members of the cast prior to filming. One of my favorite memories is the scene I filmed with Sophie Fergi (Zaria) where we both became very emotional about why our friendship broke off. There were so many layers in that scene and although it was tough to do, I am very proud of it!

Q) You started dancing at age three and are trained in tap, ballet, hip hop, and jazz funk. At just eight years old, you relocated to Los Angeles and began training at Gray Studios drama school. How do you think that prepared you to be in the entertainment industry?

A) Yes, definitely! Training is important for any line of work and the entertainment industry is no different! Besides the training, which helps improve your art, those classes and meetups are so important for meeting people who are already in the industry! I actually met my producers, Nici and Shayon, at a dance class when I first moved out here and I have been working with them ever since!

Q) Who would you most like to collaborate with on a song in the future?

A) I would say Melanie Martinez. I love her music, but I absolutely also love her style and artistry!

Q) Are there any other projects you have been working on that you can tell us about?

A) I am working on much more new music right now! I have so many songs already written, and demos recorded but we are still writing and recording more! I feel that last year and this year will be the heaviest concentration of songwriting and recording that I have done! I also have a movie that I filmed a few years ago coming out in February of 2022 titled, The Hyperions. I can’t wait to finally see it!

Q) Do you have any future plans of a tour or any upcoming concerts?

A) I do not have any plans right now for a tour or concerts. I am really excited to be able to start planning that part of my music career!

Q) What would you like to say to fans and supporters of you and your music?

A) Thank you to all the stars in my galaxy! You mean the world to me, and I appreciate all of your support! I really have an amazing group of supporters who have been there since the beginning, and it really means a lot to see the ones who have stuck around for so long!
