Jake Sandvig – Making A Scene
Q. What are some of the current projects that you’ve been working on?
A. I am not working on anything right now, just auditioning and trying to get something going. It’s been kind of a slow pilot season for me right now.
Q. We know you just played J.B. on the show “Veronica Mars.” What information were you originally given about the character?
A. I was told it was a one time guest appearance and I didn’t really know if I was going to be going back and doing more work on the show. I guess it’s a possibility they could have me back, I’m just waiting to hear to see what they think.
Q. What made you want to be a part of this show?
A. Well, I have liked the show, I’ve seen the show a few times. An audition for it came up and so I went in and read for the director and the casting director and that’s how it happened. I read for them and I guess they took a liking to me.
Q. Do you have a most memorable moment from working on “Veronica Mars?”
A. I’d say the first day that I was filming. It was a very late night and it was close to three or four in the morning. It was the last scene and I was coming out to the hallway when she’s essentially showing me all of this information that she has and that she’s threatening to show to other people if I don’t confess to stealing the test. It was just so funny because we were both so exhausted, her more than I, because she obviously had been working all day. We were both so out of it and we had to get this filmed so we could both go home and get to bed. It was just very funny.
Q. We know you mentioned possibly returning. Do you feel there is any chance that J.B. will pop up again?
A. It’s just up to the writers and everybody if they want to expand that character more. Maybe just depends on what they want to do and I’m cool with whatever.
Q. What is it about the show that you think continually has viewers tuning in to it?
A. I just think it’s a cliché because a lot of the detective shows on TV nowadays kind of attracts some older audiences, like the
“Law and Orders” and those types of shows. This one is cool because it takes place in a high school and it’s got this young detective girl and she does all of this investigation. I think it’s cool because it draws a younger audience to it.
Q. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
A. I enjoy listening to music, I play rugby, I am trying to become a rugby referee at present. I love hanging out with my family and going to dinner with my mom, all that good stuff.
Q. Do you have a latest obsession? Are you into any particular book, sport, music group or activity?
A. I would have to say rugby, I would have to say aside from auditioning and trying to make money rugby is my life. I just love and respect the athleticism and the skill that it requires, and it’s just a lot of fun to play.
Q. Now that it is 2006, what are you most looking forward to this year?
A. Working, getting some good honest work and getting on a good show or doing a good film or just something.
Q. What would you like to say to all of your fans and supporters?
A. Thank you and thanks for the support and keep tuning in.
