Jane The Virgin – Chapter Ninety

The episode begins with Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rogelio (Jaime Camil) pitching the new ideas they came up with for the telenovela that will hopefully make sure it is picked up. The had the idea of putting the characters in space and have flashbacks to the future. The executives loved it, leaving Jane and Rogelio to go home and do a choreographed danced to celebrate with Alba (Ivonne Coll) and Xo (Andrea Navedo). During this Jorge (Alfonso DiLuca) decides he wants to marry Alba and proposes. He wants them to be married in front of God and it be something that Alba deserves.

Jane feels the urge to call Rafael (Justin Baldoni) and tell him, but she knows that she has to give him space now and not call him for everything. This hasn’t been as much as an issue for him because he has decided to let Luisa (Yara Martinez) back in his life. Her hippie lifestyle has had a positive effect on Rafael and he likes having her around. He even decides he wants her to meet the kids, but he has to go through both Jane and Petra first.  Petra (Yael Grobglas) is trying to do the same thing, but with JR (Rosario Dawson). She wants the twins to like her more and decides they can do something simple, like go get ice cream. Of course, when one of the twins tries to take all of the organic strawberries from the build your own sundae bar JR flips and calls them a spoiled brat. Nearby, at Alba’s engagement party, Jane overhears this happening, but doesn’t say anything.

Jane sees Raf at the engagement party. He looks way better than he did. He asks Jane if he can introduce Mateo (Elias Janssen) to Luisa. Jane later admits she wants to say yes, only to be okay again with Rafael, but not for Mateo’s sake.

Jane knows she needs to just focus on writing the telenovela. She notices her old editor’s name and number in a pile of writing that Rogelio gave her to help him. She is suspicious and asks Rogelio, but he says it was just to send him flowers after her book launch. JR and Petra start fighting when Petra says, “Why didn’t you tell me?” having JR admit what happened and they fight because Petra doesn’t think JR should be disciplining her twins.

Jane tries to call her editor who says he PROMISED Rogelio he wouldn’t say anything. SAY WHAT?! Jane does a trick on Rogelio, acting like she already knows, and he admits that he used his money to help Jane get published and more copies get bought. His intentions were nice, saying he couldn’t see Jane upset over another thing while dealing with Michael (Brett Dier) dying.

Jane takes her anger and decides to offer River (Brooke Shields) more lines and closeups – anything that will make Rogelio angry. Even the scene of putting the American flag on Mars.

JR and Petra try to look at both sides and know they both have to work on their parenting skills. Then, JR gets the call she got a job in Houston.

Jorge and Alba prepare for their simple wedding ceremony and dinner with family. Rafael is not invited. Jane thinks he should be though so she takes it upon herself and invites him.

Xo is upset she can’t get a rare flower, an orchid from Venezuela, that she promised Alba she would find for her. She cries because she wanted to give her mom something special to show how much she appreciates Alba always being there for her. Alba embraces her and says parents do whatever for their children.

After the wedding Jane stays with Xo so Jorge and Alba can have some sexy alone time. She begins writing, but instead of writing about her Mars telenovela she writes about Rogelio.

Luisa is playing with Mateo when Raf gets the call that Rose (Bridget Regan) and Luisa are still working together. All of her secret money has been given to Luisa.
