Jane The Virgin – Chapter Ninety-Four

As Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) are now back together, Jane prepares to move back in with him. Mateo (Elias Janssen) doesn’t seem as excited as usual, so they are thinking that his medication isn’t having the best effect on his emotions. Jane and Rafael decide to pick up where they left off, so Rafael is planning to propose. He wants it to be a surprise, but knows Jane is snooping around and expecting it. When the whole family has a game night with a game similar to BINGO that involves cards with pictures and riddles on them, Rafael pops the question as he reads the riddle on the ring card.

They finally confront Mateo about his lack of emotion, but he reveals he thinks that they are not going to actually stay together and that’s why he isn’t excited. They decide to do a small courthouse wedding to get married sooner, but they realize the courthouse is a little too dull for their liking. So, they are going to have a party at a fancy restaurant after. This will make Petra (Yael Grobglas) happy because she said Jane was her one chance at being a Maid of Honor.

Rogelio (Jaime Camil) and Alba (Ivonne Coll) are worried about Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) because she keeps acting weird and ignoring calls from her doctors. She admits that it was actually her nurse calling and that she was thinking of going to nursing school. Of course, everyone is over-joyed, but ultimately, she decides she doesn’t want to pursue this career.

Rafael and Jane find out the fancy restaurant only has an opening for the next day. Rafael says they do it, in fear of something happening again, like Michael coming back. Alba is so upset that Xo decides to not go to nursing school that she challenges her in Loteira again, the game they played earlier. If Alba wins, she goes. Xo claims she is going to cheat, like she did last time, when they played for Xo going on as a dancer on a Disney Cruise. Alba did cheat this time, but admits last time it was her father that cheated so Xo would lose.

Jane is trying to sew a dress for Petra that she really didn’t even want. She hurts herself, ending up with a black eye and a neck brace. She still tells Rafael she can get married the next day, but she really seems too miserable to do it. Petra goes to talk to Rafael and asks him if he can get over the past.

Rogelio tells Xo that if she really wants to be a nurse that she has to work for it. She can’t just see that it is hard and push through it. She knows he is right and decides to go through with it.

Rafael and Jane come clean about not wanting to get married just yet. She commits to Rafael entirely saying she will never leave him and she knows she wants to spend her life with him. Even if he tries to leave she will come with him. They decide to plan a bigger celebration down the line. They fight over who’s side Petra should stand on, with Rafael winning. Then, they let Mateo give them a pretend wedding to ease his mind.
