Jane The Virgin – Chapter Ninety-Three

Jane (Gina Rodriguez) is looking for a new apartment as Mateo (Elias Janssen) is preparing for rehearsal for his school’s play. Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) is finally getting back out in the world now that she is cancer-free.

Rafael (Justin Baldoni) goes to check on Mateo at his rehearsal, where things go awry. Mateo causes a ruckus and gets himself kicked out of the play when he knocks down props. This causes Raf to bring up the idea of putting Mateo on medicine to Jane, who still wants to wait longer. In the middle of what looks like to be a bonding between the two, Raf’s new girlfriend Julie (Sophia Bush) appears. Jane convinces Mateo’s teacher to put him back in the play, only if Jane teaches Mateo the dance one on one so he doesn’t distract the other students.

Milosh (Max Bid-Riddell) is back and threatening Petra (Yael Grobglas) with selling the Marbella if she doesn’t lie to make his trial go better. She thinks he is lying and wouldn’t do that, but he seems pretty serious.

Julie posts about how clingy Jane is on her Instagram story. Jane takes Petra’s advice to be the bigger person and not bring it up and defend herself. Julie ends up saying something to Jane, asking if there is anything between her and Rafael. Jane says there is nothing and that Rafael really likes her. Rafael gets mad at this, but only because he doesn’t like Julie as much as Jane said he does.

Rogelio (Jaime Camil) is worried that ever since he told River (Brooke Shields) he does not like her in a romantic way she has been trying to hurt him. A light fell at work and could almost have killed him. He decides to hire a bodyguard…who River soon seduces. She then admits that she wasn’t planning on actually doing anything, just making Ro go crazy thinking she was. Then, Rogelio switches the game, admitting to the audience he brought the bodyguard in as a man to distract River.

Jane and Rafael get stuck in an apartment he is showing her and they make a list of qualities Rafael wants in a woman. Jane decides to be an even BIGGER person and tell him to give Julie a second chance. Petra and Jane go out and get hit on by some younger men, but generally have a good time with each other. Petra finds out that the lawyers can’t prevent Milosh from selling the hotel.

Mateo’s play is going amazing, until a baby starts crying in the crowd. Mateo gets distracted and shouts at the baby. He tells Jane and Rafael he doesn’t want to feel this way anymore, so they decide to put him on medication.

Petra has hired her old assistant, Krishna (Shelly Bhalla), back. While Petra is trying to treat her better, it turns out she is working against Petra with Milosh.

Rafael asks Jane if they can talk. Jane being the bigger person and waiting for him has FINALLY paid off. Rafael realizes things with Julie weren’t right because she wasn’t JANE. They kiss, and in honor of Mateo’s play and them finally being back together for good, the whole cast does a fun dance number, even Krishna and River Fields are in it.
