Jason Dolley – A Helping Hand
Q) What are the current projects that you are working on?
A) I just recently finished an ABC pilot called “Enemies.” In a little while, I have a feature film coming out called Saving Shiloh. I also have a comedy TV movie coming out on the Disney Channel in July called Read It and Weep (a.k.a. How My Private Personal Journal Became A Bestseller).
Q) Please tell us about the film Saving Shiloh and your character, Marty Preston.
A) Judd, who is his neighbor, is accused of murder. Marty doesn’t think that Judd is a murderer, so he and his friends set out to solve the mystery.
Q) What made you want to be a part of this project?
A) It’s a family oriented film and there aren’t as many as there used to be. It’s a good family film and a great story!
Q) What is your most memorable moment from filming?
A) I have a little dog in the film. When we were making the film, we formed a bond and it’s like we’re still friends now. So, when ever I see her, she knows that it’s me!
Q) Why should viewers take the time to check out the film Saving Shiloh?
A) It’s a great family film and it’s a good story! Like I said before, there aren’t as many family films out there as there used to be and probably should be.
Q) You recently worked on the film The Air I Breathe with Brendan Frasier, Kevin Bacon, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Andy Garcia, Emile Hirsh and so many great celebrities. What was it like working with such talented actors?
A) Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to work with all of them. I was playing a flashback of a young Brendan Frasier. I did; however, get to meet Brendan Frasier and Emile Hirsh, who are both great guys and really laid back. They’re very cool. I didn’t get to work with any of them, but I really wish I had!
Q) Why did you want to become an actor?
A) I had always wanted to be an actor ever since I was a little kid. I don’t, exactly, know what sparked the interest, but when ever I saw a movie I thought, “That’s what I want to do! I want to be that guy on the screen.”
Q) You received the Young Artists Award in 2005 for Best Performance in a Television Series for your work on the show “Complete Savages.” How did that make you feel?
A) That was a huge honor! I went there expecting to have a good time, but I wasn’t expecting an award. I went to have a good time and I got the award! It was a huge thrill and a great honor! I thank all of my supporters!
Q) What do you do in your spare time?
A) Like most teenagers, these days, I like playing the occasional video game here and there. I like to hang out with my friends and I also enjoy paintball.
Q) What is your latest obsession? A band? A book? A movie? A sport?
A) It’s got to be paintball! I got a paintball gun and all of the stuff last Christmas. I haven’t been able to go as much as I would like to, but any time I get to go it’s a blast!
Q) What would you like to say to all of your fans and supporters?
A) Just to have fans and supporters is a huge honor! Keep watching and thank you very much!
